one way rental car from US to Canada

Hello Everyone, has anyone have experience with a one way rental from USA to canada. Would the officer look at how long the rental contract is. I plan to drive over (if possible) and return the same day. Has anyone done this recently, please share if you do.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Are you trying to do a soft landing or are you trying to enter further than the border crossing? It appears as though you and your spouse are already PRs.

Yea, we are already PR card holders.
