I've been doing small research now and found out on HRSDC page "sign designer" is (NOC 5241) Graphic Designers and Illustrators.

And then there are different LMO forms, depends on job. So there are for agricultural, live-in, exotic dancers :), low skilled occ, academics and high skilled occ.
I assume I have to go with a high skilled work LMO form? How do I know if my occupation is Level A, B, C, D...?

Thank you

You search for your job on the Labour Market Information website. http://www.labourmarketinformation.ca/standard.aspx?pcode=lmiv_main_q4&lcode=eng

All jobs are assigned a 4 digit code. If your job starts with a 0, you are in a Management level occupation and this is the highest skilled. For skill levels A, B, C and D you look at the 2nd number in the code. The skill levels correspond with this number as follows:

1 - Skill level A
2 - Skill level B
4 - Skill level C
6 - Skill level D

Only jobs classifed as 0, A or B are considered "high skilled".

Tedi I'm not sure where you're from in Europe but I know for Germans there are 2 International Experience categories one being the work/holiday which is the open work permit and another Young Professional where you need to have a job offer.

oh, thank you kelkel...

Yeah we have same condition as Germany. Now I am on open holiday work permit for a year.
So you are basically saying I should get job offer from my employer and apply again under Young professional... hm.
I'm not sure right now what I should do, go with LMO, arranged employment or job offer.
I have to check out how this job offer works...

thanks again :)

Hello,

I'm glad to inform you guys that I have applied under Young Professional program and received new working visa from end of October 2011 (Blaine U-Turn). No LMO necessary, just written job offer.
So here's my second year in Canada under work permit - Graphic Arts Technician (NOC 5223 B).

Q: I' been thinking - If I decide to stay permanently, what are my options?

I mean I've been doing some research to found a few:

1-extend and/or change my current visa (so I could work 2yrs full-time)

2-apply as skilled worker (say I can't get LMO, just written offer of employment and 1 year full-time employment after April 2012)

3-apply for student visa (I would like to become certified welder), apparently I can't...
Unless Authorized, Prohibited From Attending Any Educational Institution And Taking Any Academic, Professional Or Vocational Training Course
... go for course now (it's written on my visa)

4-Canadian Experience Class

5-Forget about it

If you have any cool suggestion to make this work, would be deeply appreciated

Thank You and Happy New Year!
