Eagle333,
I posted some time back asking for your opinion about my wife's timeline. I had ordered GMCS notes on Nov 16th but yesterday they became (somewhat) irrelevant as my wife received a passport request and 2 photos as well as current mailing address and Canadian address confirmation.
As it turns out the Mexico City VO called our house on Dec 1st and spoke with my wife. They told her that they are trying to get an extension of the medicals, but if they can't would we be prepared to travel to Mexico City to get medicals done again as her medicals were set to expire on Dec 16, 2015. We of course said that we would indeed go for re-medicals if required. They said stand by for an email in the next 2 days for instructions. Well, she got PPR Thank God! They extended her medicals and the PPT REQ says the visa will be valid until 2016/12/01. (my wife is young and in good health)
I have 2 questions;
1. Is that date format December 01, 2016 or January 12, 2016. I believe it to be December 01, 2016.
2. Based on their words to my wife, "We are trying to get your medicals extended", it is my theory that the VO consults with the panel physician who did the original medical examinations to see if they are willing to extend the validity of the medicals based on the results of those original examinations. The opinion of the panel physician then determines whether or not they will extend and for how long. Do you have knowledge of how this is determined? Would you tend to agree with my theory?
I sincerely thank you for taking the time out of your life to help people on these forums. You are very kind!
