So I applied for Spousal Sponsorship many months ago and finally heard back from CIC. But the only thing is that they told me my application is incomplete. I am currently here on a work permit but was let go from the job that I had. I filled out the IMM1295 but was given a letter from CIC saying that I need to fill out the IMM5710 Application to Change Condition, Extend my stay or remain in Canada as a worker. I am wanting to get a open work permit.

But the interesting thing is that CIC did not send back my whole application and just sent me back my IMM1295 the old forms and asked to fill out the IMM5710. Does that mean CIC kept all the rest of my application? Because when I called CIC and told them my UCI number they said there was no records of my application. But I asked the immigration support here in Winnipeg and she told me that they just said it was incomplete. Do I need to just fill this new IMM5710 form and send it back to them? Or Do I have to do the whole application package again? Then what about the things that i paid for? And I also received my police certificate from United States could I also include that in when I send back the IMM5710?

Just fill out the form they asked you to fill out and send back .

Since you did not get everything back, the are likely holding your application until you submit the requested forms. This means that your application will not go back to the end of the line!

Since you already have your UCI number (and I would suspect a file number as well, that begins with `F') chances are good that they will match this form and your FBI PCC to your application...wherever it is. Just be sure to write this information on a cover letter that you attach.

also, the fact the worker can't find your app in the system doesn't mean anything. usually if an application is incomplete, CIC will wait until it's actually complete to enter it into their system. so, considering your entire app wasn't sent back, they only need the forms indicated. when we had a missing form, we were told it could take 2-4 weeks for it to be attached to the original app once it was received. this was back in march, so i'm not sure if that's still accurate. before that point, CIC may be able tell if they've received the new forms, or they may not.
