Isn't itwill McCallum supposed to announced thincrease t for immigration for ate the upnecessarily year before Nov 1? Or is this it? Just Refugees? No words on anything else.

Immigration intake will for sure go up but international students studying in Canada will be now given more preference.so increase in intake of immigrants not necessarily translates into any good news for future FSW applicant..

Not sure abt jan feb march 2016 fsw though .they are largest in no .all dds have been enchased.any additional docs request to even a single jan 2016 candidate will open gates for the rest .

I think the ministers nov announcement for new targets will have some direct relation to jan 2016 oinp fsw s chances.

This is all my observation

We have the whole of nov and half of dec to have our nominations... so have faith as they are almost done with
Nov and Dec it's now Jan applicants... As observed the process of nov and dec... nominations would not happen as FIFO... let's all share as soon as we get any info from Ontario...

there is one more news that might hurt us the Jan 2016 applicants IMO.

Canadian parliament unanimously passed resolution to settle yazidi refugees in canada .dont know but it has been discussed on various threads that Syrian refugee settlement led to delays of oinp applicants in 2016.

if that's true and govt prefers cec and refugees first then fsw 2016 applicants might have to go through very rough time even in 2017 .

seniors pls provide your opinion if possible.

John McCallum just announced on Friday that he is going to increase the number of Immigrants significantly, first year would be 320k, all they way too 450k by 2021. He also mentioned that "Economical Immigrants " I.E is us will be his priority. Please read the article attached below and Don't worry OINP is working really hard to get the nominations out!

I had an opportunity to read on CIC's website the speech given by John MCCallum (Immigration Minister) at a luncheon hosted by Canadian Club recently. (Keep in mind that this lunch was mostly business tycoons, so they tend to be more nicer about jobs etc) its quite detail, i strongly urge everyone to read it. It basically outlines that they will think more of international students and invest more in PNP programs(I.E increase they number of applications from 5,500 to more for FSW etc). They have reached their target to clear family immigration back log and kept the promise to help refugees. Now the economical classes (thats right "you and me") will be considered.

Good Luck.

That's incorrect, no immigration target has been announced yet. The 450K number you are referring to is just a recommendation of an advisory board.

I guess we will find out soon, he is suppose to announce this tomorrow! click on the second link provided, it might give you an idea. Again these are speculations, nothing tangible till it is announced on CIRC's website.

there is no connection between the govt announcement in november with OINP Jan-Feb applicants, OINP has clearly stated that they will process ALL applications... its not like Govt reduces the no of immigrants from 320k to 100k (for eg) and OINP will say - hard luck chaps, we cannot process your applications now... doesnt work that way .
