I called OINP today to check my status. Mentioned that they are going to process all applications before dec. So just 3 more months and will have nomination.

Really?
5000+ applications in less than 90 days?
That's 50+ applications per day!!!

When you put it this way, that sounds extremely unlikely.

Any idea how many NoM's issued in the last 2 weeks?

Well, when they were sending out AOR's they averaged 40 applications a day. This was before they went completely online.

Seeing as how, they need to verify documents which have already been checked for completeness, I don't see that number as being so unlikely..

Hey guys,

Quick question, which I think was answered before, however, I cannot find the answer.

If my wife gets pregnant while OINP is still processing the nomination, does this make any diff to the current process? What about after nomination? If the child is born while PR is being processed or after it has been processed, how do things change, if at all?

How would we process the PR for the child if he/she is born after the PR process is complete for my wife and I?

This doesn't effect the processing of your application. If the baby is born before you land in Canada and activate your PR, you have to show additional funds for the baby. Keeping the province of nomination and IRCC informed is a good practice. Below are the various possible scenarios and what you would have to do in each of them.

1) If the baby is born before the application is submitted, do the medicals for the baby and submit the details of the baby on the application.
2) If the baby is born after the application submission but before you get your PPR, you have to raise a CSE and submit documents.
3) If the baby is born after you get your PPR/post stamping, then you can inform the VO where your PP was stamped and let them know. They will add the baby to your application and issue a visa/COPR for the baby too. You can then land in Canada together.
4) If your baby is born in Canada, s/he'll be a Canadian Citizen so you don't have to worry about it.

Thank you Raj. That was very informative.. Appreciate it..

On the same note, I have one more question.. Can my wife do a medical if she is pregnant?

Its not advisable to take medicals during Pregnancy. They will take the Chest Xray which is not recommended for Pregnant ladies.

The discussion was about "after the baby is born" so one cannot be pregnant again right after the baby is born :) .

On a more serious note, there are 2 choices if the wife is pregnant -

1) The wife can take the medical test (blood/urine/vision etc) but skip the chest X-ray and the application can be submitted with a LOE. The wife can take the chest X-ray after the baby is born and then ask the clinic to submit this to IRCC.

2) The wife can go ahead and take the chest X-ray with a lead apron so that the X-rays do not damage the fetus + the other tests and submit the application to IRCC.

Hello, I wanted to check just to be sure - I entered Express Entry, 437 CRS.. I marked ALL PROVINCES. So when OINP opens I might get an PT Notification of Interest so I dont have to do anything until that moment right?
