OINP - Human Capital Priorities Stream in the Express Entry Pool

Hello All,

I am in the process of creating an express entry profile. My CRS score comes to 452, and my NOC is 5121. I want to apply for OINP, which is open to express entry pool candidates. As I understand, Ontario has put a temporary pause on issuing NOIs. What does this mean? Is temporary really "temporary"? Has this happened before? Any help will be appreciated.

TIA!

By "temporary" they mean they closed their intake for this particular stream for the year 2016, and will reopen when they announce their intake in 2017.

This is the first time it's happened because OINP only launched their Express Entry nomination streams in June 2015 and continued to send NOIs to HCP until Feb 2016, and they only officially announced this pause and the cap filled in May 2016. It's not possible to conclude any trends. We just have to wait and see.

Hello,

The French-Speaking Skilled Workers Stream is still open and still sending notification of interest letter. You need to have done both French and English tests with CLB7 for French and CLB6 for English at least and have a Bachelor degree or higher. As I understand it , this stream is not planing at closing anytime soon.

Thanks guys for your replies. So all we can do now is to wait and watch. The Human Capital Priorities stream accepts NOC 0, A, and B, correct? Could that change?

I am pretty in the same boat, worrying about the same thing.
The stream was paused due to high volume, so naturally with the at least half-year pause, the number of potential applicants will accumulate.
I will not be surprised if Ontario modifies some criteria to sift candidates. If I were about to adjust the criteria, I might 1) raise the 400-point bar; 2) rule out some of the occupations; 3) require a longer time for work experience (currently it's 1yr out of 5yrs), etc.
Therefore, let's hope for the best that the federal score drops below 460 before November, so that the previous criteria may probably remain...
Just my 2 cents
