OINP employer prescreen form- position change?

Hi All,

My employer submitted an employer pre screen application form last week but this week I found out that I will be promoted to a new position by beginning of Dec. So my question is since the application was submitted with my old title will it be a problem if i accept the new position? Does my employer have to resubmit a form? Or we can notify the government as they are processing the form?

Just wondering, how was your employer able to send pre-screen application forms last week? I thought this is one of the streams they stopped taking in applications for since May 9 this year

Hey,

All OINP streams that require a job offer from an Ontario employer have been closed since May 9th. In the following link scroll down to May 9th and read the program update:

I would think that OINP will return your employer's application with a message saying that they are not accepting any applications right now.

My employer applied for that pre-screening back in early January and we haven't heard anything yet. So this stream requires a lot of patience.

Does the closure also apply to international students with job offer stream?That is why i am really confused because my employer has been working with a laywer and the lawyer never said anything about this being closed

Well that is a tricky question. Let me try and clarify. The international student with a job offer stream for OINP is a 2 application process. The first is the job pre-screening application (company) and later is the nomination application (Nominee). As it is clearly stated in the link I sent you:

Ontario temporarily paused the intake of new applications for the following select, high-volume OINP streams effective 5 p.m. EDT on May 9, 2016:
- Employer Pre-screen
- International Student – Masters Graduate stream
- International Student – PhD Graduate stream
"

Since May 9th any Employer Pre-screening applications have not been accepted, but for applicants with a job offer that was already pre-screened they can submit the 2nd application i.e the nomination application.
Therefore, your company's application will be returned, or not processed, but for instance if I get my pre-screen approval today I can submit a nomination application right away.

Keep checking the link I sent for further updates in regards to the stream opening up again. There is talk about changing the application process and moving it to an online application platform vs. the old school paper applications.

I am extremely disappointed in the fact that the lawyer our company has been dealing with is not aware of this. They sent the employer pre screen application last week and I kept on thinking the laywer knew something that wasnt on the website and have him benefit of the doubt.
