Hi all!

I received today a request for additional information. IRCC requested RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints. I think @chivinas got the same request a few months ago. I was looking at the regional police website and there is a note that all non-criminal fingerprints are suspended until further notice. I will contact them tomorrow, but if anyone is in the same situation or know how can I do it with other agencies or company, it would be a great help.

I am still waiting for biometrics to reopen so I can do it.

But at least the email from today is a hope that they are processing even the applications that are waiting for biometrics.

Congratulations! probably you will receive PAL soon!

I did it in a private place, Red Seal Notary, because it is walk-in. It is a bit more expensive, but at police station I would have to wait for an appointment. This is the web: https://www.redsealnotary.com/fingerprinting.html
I went to Mississauga location, near Square One, 50 Burnhamthorpe Rd. West, Suite 401.

This is another one well known that offers the same service: https://commissionaires.ca/en/northern-alberta-nwt-nunavut/service/fingerprinting

Thanks for sharing!
Did you go straight to the private company or did you go to the police first? This type of walk-in service is just come and do it?

Yes. You go there is the business hours without appointment and they take your digital fingerprints and digital photo, and sent them to RCMP. No need to go to police station. After about 7-10 days, you will have the results in your postal mail. I paid 65 CAD.

You need two pieces of identification. No health card. I bring passport and work permit, along with the letter from IRCC asking for the fingerprints

Yes, I will take my passport and driver's license. My work permit is expired, I am in implied status since August 01, waiting the approval of the BOWP since April.

Do you mean the employer specific work permit, not BOWP? I thought this stream was employer specific work permit only.

I’ve just got my husband’s OWP approved!!! Just in time for him not to lose his job bc it expired on August 4th and his office was already asking for it.
Great news! When did you apply for his OWP? Is this the bridging? Hope to get ours approved soon now that looks like IRCC is working again!

We applied on the first week of April. I’ve decided to ask for the extension of my PGWP because it’s two years more instead of one of the bridging. I hope I have the PR by then!!

I applied for extension on March 13th and still nothing...

By the way, congrats to all the new-comers who received a OINP spot. We oldies are happy to help in anyway. Feel free to post relevant questions regarding the application, PR etc.
