OINP Application sent in March 2016

My passport expires end of April2017
I am still waiting for the OINP nomination.
When should I consider getting it renewed?

By April17 its highly likely that you would not get PR.. By that time you would have submitted docs post ITA if OINP picks up the pace.. Passports can be renewed within 1 year of expiry which is applicable in your case.. No harm in applying for renewal now.. Ensure that you have scan copy of each page of your current passport with you and then apply for renewal.. Once you have new passport you would need to scan each page of passport, fill up the change in personal information form and send these details to OINP.

the thing is decmber guy in the forum was asked for new docs, and in that they asked for a new passport scans coz his passport was going to expire in a few months... and all new docs requested had to be sent within 15 days...

I have my address and name change after marriage.
Should i get these changed on the passport?
Before marriage name "KK"
After marrige "KK Verma"
Passport renewal requirement says a valid address proof incase of address change.

I have a joint acc with hubby with name "Kk" but hubby's address.
What should be my new passport details in order to avoid confusions??

true 100%, you should apply for a new passport now itself... but apply for priority application so you get within a week or so

I suggest that you get the name changed on PP to avoid trouble and confusion in the future. For the address part, you can provide the address of where you currently live - the property doesn't have to be in your name. I don't think you can use "all" private bank's passbook to show proof of address. The address has to be on the passbook of a public sector bank or an "Indian" private sector bank.

Address on Indian Private Sector Bank will not work.. Best would be to open an account with state bank of india with ur current address and take the print of the passbook.. Make sure the address page on passbook has your photograph attached to it.. This will work.. Also attach a letter from your employer with ur new address.. This should work.. For the name part it would be best to get your name changed in Aadhar card first which can be done on the basis of marriage certificate.

Long story short, my passport gonna expired on 24 Sept 2017. I can't submit my passport renewal application before 25 Sept 2016. This whole renewal process take more than 45 days ( not guaranteed).
What should I do ? Should I send an email to OINP explaining my situation or should I wait for OINP, if they ask for my new passport or LOE, I can than apply for emergency passport that take less than 23 hours.

At the time of application, I was sure I will get PR before my passport expires, but now I think I'll only get Nominated by then.

I plan to renew my passport after Nomination only and will inform OINP then. I guess you could do the same.

Thank you guys for your suggestions on the passport issue.
I will work on getting it renewed at the earliest.
I plan to get a new account opened with revised name and address in a govt bank(SBBJ state bank of Bikaner and Jaipur) and based on that apply for a new passport.
