Offer of Employment

Hello,
I have received an ITA for Canadian Experience Class and now, I have to upload the documents. However, I have a question about the documents it is asking me to provide.
Under the Offer of Employment, it says:

You must provide a job offer letter from the employer who wants to hire you. It must be printed on company letterhead, and state that you will be employed permanently in Canada by that company. The letter must specify whether the job is:

• for continuous, paid, full-time work (at least 30 hours a week),
• for work that is permanent and not seasonal,
• skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC)

(Note – in most cases, the job offer must be for a permanent job. For some types of jobs, it has to be for at least one year.)
The job offer letter must include contact information for the company (address, telephone number and email address).

My question is that currently I have a contract that will be over on August 28, 2019. However, I might get a renewal for one more year once I have already sent all the documents for the PR. Normally contract is renewed by April 2019 for one more year. I do know that the application for PR takes usually around 6 months. My due date to send all the documents is: January 28, 2019. I do not know if sending everything would be too tight considering that it is just half a year exactly and I do have to ask for the Mexican Criminal Records (my family and I lived there for a year although we are not Mexican). What is your opinion? Any advice? I rather decline the invitation before spending lots of money and time for such a tight timing...

Also, does any body know what are the types of jobs that with a year contract is enough? As a visiting teacher I am, my contract gets renewed year after year up to a maximum of 5 years in a row.

I believe you can upload your offer which is till August 2019 and then mention in the letter of explanation about the contract renewal process.. anyhow let's see what other replies come up on the thread.

It sounds like you do not meet the requirements for having a valid job offer. Did you receive points for that? If not, just upload the letter you have, it will not matter.

If you DID receive 50 points for a valid job offer, that is a more complicated matter. The first question I would have is, what kind of work permit do you have? "Some types of jobs" simply refers to contract employment. The "at least one year" refers to AFTER you become a PR, so you would need that letter in hand for 2019-2020 at the time you submit your PR application. I'm sorry, I realize that may not be possible in your case...

RE Mexico police clearance, you do not need that upfront. Read instructions here:

Instead of the PCC, you would upload a brief Letter of explanation (LOE) that you are a non-citizen, non-resident of Mexico, and per instructions, you will wait to be told when to send your application to the Canadian Consulate in Mexico CIty...

thanks for your help. I did contact the Human Resources department of my district and they will be able to write a letter that stands that my contract might be up to 4 years long. It is not permanent, though, but I suppose that might be enough.

So, you DID receive points for claiming to have a valid job offer?

The [future] job offer letter could say something like, "This job offer is for annual renewable contracts for an indefinite period of time (at least one year), contingent upon Mr/Ms Lou obtaining permanent resident status."

Assuming you get a lettter that does work, alas, obtaining a valid job offer letter is only one of the requirements. What kind of a work permit do you have?

Finally, I have received the offer of employment but they can not mention the word "indefinite" because my program is up to 4 years and I am under a probationary contract. I am not sure if that would work. It is a very harsh situation. The permanent residence process is asking for "permanent" whereas the company will not write down this word for me. What they wrote in the offer of employment is: "My name is in year one of the four years international Exchange Program ...".
My current employer, if I do not get the permanent residence, they will not hire me out of the 4 years program I am in. Maybe I should upload this information up on the ITA? I am not sure if that is going to be an information which makes my whole application rejected and not eligible. And as you asked: yes, I got the points for an offer of employment. I am very hesitant to continue the process...What would you recommend?

It does not have to say "permanent" - it only has to indicate that you will be employed for at least one year AFTER you become a PR. Since you have at least 3 more years to go, I think that will qualify.

I dont think that any HR will mention your duties, therefore, to make things clear for the IRCC officer prepare a reference letter from your manager or supervisor stating everything could be missed from your offer letter. This will solidify your job offer requirements and gives the officer the confidence that you qualify for the 50 points you gained from the job offer. Simple

Just to add, there is no requirement that the letter of reference come from HR - IRCC actually prefers a letter from a direct supervisor / manager.

This is pretty common situations, try to explain to your manager/supervisor this particular situation, and have him extend your offer one more year, submit the extension letter supported by a reference letter from your manager. you are totally safe..

If I say this if for PR process, my managers will not support this, as I already have one more year offer and I already submitted my application with what I have(one year job, by the time I submitted)
