Just spoke to ircc agent, nothing required from me still stuck on lpp , it says not started on their end but apparently that does not mean that the file is not being worked on as it goes from not started to complete directly

Also asked if elections had something to cause pauses in applications and she said nope, files were still being worked on elections had nothing to do with ircc

So last officer note was in march for me apparently and thats is… perfect

Can’t wait for my cbsa and ircc gcm notes to come
Don’t be too worried. Your case sounds exactly like mine. I was calling them up to Easter and LPP wasn’t started and in my gcms notes the last time my file was worked on was Feb 13th. So you might also get a surprise just like I did in the next couple of days.

Call centre agents basically are not going to know.

And if you're referring to my hypothesis about a pause: never meant to imply files wouldn't be worked upon if there was/is an election 'pause.' Only that they wouldn't be finalized at certain stages (and officers can move to other files anyway).

The processing times jumped to 10 months :(
If we call IRCC, they will say still in the normal processing timeframe...
When we submitted, it was 7 months :D
I legitimately didn't believe you, so I went to check. LOL. This is ridiculous. Probably because they appear to have done approximate nothing for at least 1 month, based on the spreadsheet and MyImmiTracker.

It's good that you asked, but did you really think the agent was going to confirm that IRCC deliberately slowed things down? LOL

Yeah no joke - ircc wasted time. I checked the AOR processing timeline and as of April 30th, they were issuing AORs for applications received around March 24th. So it seems that they also slowed down accepting new applications. What were they doing half of March and all of April?!

Still waiting patiently. Application submitted Sep 29th.
only background completed since Dec 4th.
LPP in progress and seems to be stuck. Agent has no clue and said it's pending additional guidance from case officer.

Did you pay to receive GCMS notes? I thought that was just for Visa applications, do they apply for citizenship as well?

No charge through ATIP from IRCC or CBSA for your own GCMS notes. They are for any interaction with the immigration system including citizenship.

I received my passport today, but the FedEx guy needed me to sign and I saw that my name was wrong. I have no idea how, but they misspelled my (commonly misspelled) last name on the shipping label. I thought for sure the passport would be wrong, but it was correct. I guess when they are doing the shipping label it doesn't auto-populate from the application for some reason and they manually type it.

Anyway, I guess my journey to being a citizen is now fully over, passport in hand. Sadly, for my wife, it feels like we've only just begun as she still waits for LPP since Feb 18, 2025.
