Looks like online applications are not moving ?
Yeah, July/ August online applicants who got AOR in October are getting test invites right now. So we can only expect to get invite in July/ August of this year. I am resigned to a long wait. If I get my citizenship granted by mid 2023 I would consider myself lucky.

Folks, I am following the October 2020 thread. A lot of people there are still waiting for their citizenship. Some have only recently been invited to take their tests. So, yes, it is possible that many of us will have to wait much, much longer for any progress.

Each application is different. On a positive note, a lot of July/August applications have moved forward. It all depends on whether your application has regular processing or some kinks in it (no way to know by an entry in a spreadsheet)

They need to be major changes that affect your application. Examples of changes include:

  • marriage or divorce
  • birth or adoption of a child
  • death of an applicant or dependant
  • changes that could affect your eligibility for the program you’re applying for, including changes in your
    • job situation
    • education
    • language skills
  • contact information updates, including:
    • email
    • phone number

How could getting married affect the application, please? (I'm planning to sponsor my spouse after getting married)

First of all congratulations on your upcoming nuptials.

IRCC will need to complete a 'separate' Background (BG) check on your future spouse and that may 'further' complicate the application depending upon what they find when they complete the BG Check. It's hard to give a specific answer but things that IRCC may look @ when considering the application for your spouse:
* The Nationality of your spouse;
* Assets & Liabilities that your spouse has
* Family connections of your spouse
* Other factors such as any day(s) that your spouse has spent in Canada
* What organization(s) your spouse has had work experience in
* Other factors which are too numerous to mention

1) Are you Paper or Online application?
2) What was your date of AOR?
3) Have you received an Invitation to sit the Citizenship Test?

Thank you so much. How should I inform the IRCC, please? Also, what are the consequences if I didn't inform them, please?
