October 2020 - Citizenship Applicants

Oath completed for my parents and sibling today. Office was Mississauga but oath letter came from Scarborough. Date of letter was March 7th. If you have a representative on file, letter can go to rep or yourself, so check both emails. There was no movement on the case, so along with lots of prayers, we had sent several emails to various email addresses.

Just to help others....Old tracker showed Decision made on parents application in Nov 2021. Sibling application had no movement since Aug 2021 and system updates were made only a couple of days before we received the oath letter. They were all exempt from test.

Question: Those who received their certificates, how many days it took from the oath date? Letter says 2-4 weeks, but wanted to know actual days taken.

Not to long ago I was here on this forum looking for help for Spousal Sponsorship - now I am back again with desperation and hope for some answers. Would really appreciate if anyone of you could help me out or point us in the right direction - this waiting game is taking a toll on mental health especially with everything that is going around in the world.


We applied for my spouse Citizenship on 20th May and till today we just the status online as in Progress - they had requested for finger prints back in Mar 2021 which they had received in Jun 2021 - Since then it is just quiet with zero update.

Language Skills / Background Verification / Physical Presence / Prohibitions are showing IN PROGRESS , since that day. Was looking at the tracker for most of you here and its a clear sign that our application fell through the crack or something.

Any thoughts or advise, no how to get this ball rolling ? Really appreciate all the help

Attended the Oath ceremony today. I guess this is the end of the long process. Just a tip from the ceremony, it takes between 1.5-2 hours. When I join the zoom meeting I was kept on hold for about 20 minutes until I was admitted so hang out tight there and do not close the session.
After the ceremony you will receive an email from the processing office and you need to REPLY to it attaching the signed Oath or affirmation of Citizenship form right a way to get your citizenship certificated processed.


All the best Oct. 2020 and all other citizenship applicants for the remaining part of the process.

Finally! After almost a year stuck at Apr 23,2021 last update I have received the email to schedule citizenship test!!! My goodness it has been a long year but feeling so grateful we are finally gaining some traction. Please update the tracker.

Congrats, that gave me some hope as I’m still stuck at Apr 23, 2021 for the last update. Waiting for the email to schedule my test.
I called CIC yesterday but had no update. Same as the tracker.

Became a Citizen today. Overall the ceremony took about 2 hours. Now begins the wait to see if they'll expedite my certificate...
