I was about to say the same thing. CEC aor october 10th, criminality in progress, info sharing started as per gcsm notes of december. Since then, nothing new....
I don't know, as never called them nor ordered GCMS notes

Same Here. AOR October 8th. CEC inland with two dependents. No changes after medicals passed on Nov 18th.
And their sites still say from last one and half month we are processing application from Aug 12 week... :)

Hi Gurus,

Shall I order GCMS notes now in below case -
CEC inland
AOR - Oct 12
MEP - Nov 23
BIO - Dec 1
Criminality is in progress since then and no further progress.

1. Despite it takes 30-40 days to get gcms notes, but they get generated in the same week of order. So does it make sense to order them now ?

2. Is there any difference ordering gcms notes with IRCC and CBSA ? Which one is better or faster ?

3. Please provide the link to order gcms notes with
CBSA - ?
IRCC - ?

Something very strange happened and please give your inputs if you'll have any experience in this.

2 months back: IRCC advised that my Eligibility and Background check is being processed.
1 month back: IRCC advised that my Eligibility is not yet started but Background check is being processed.
Today: IRCC advised that my Eligibility and Background check is being processed.

Portal states Eligibility is under review and Background check is under processing.

Has anyone here experienced anything similar?

Please advise,
Thank you!

@legalfalcon

When you call, the call centre rep can only inform you of what they see on your application. Since the eligibility takes place in two stages, where first it is evaluated by an case assistant analyst and the recommendation is then reviewed by an officer, who makes a final determination. So what stage your application is at, and what was entered for eligibility, such as "recommended passed," etc.

As regards BGC, it comprises of Criminality and security. Criminality starts early in the process, where is security is usually the last stage.

Hi, I am on a closed work permit and applied for PR via CEC and have a AOR from October 26.
My closed work permit location is Montreal. I have not claimed points for job offer
I currently live in Toronto and work from home to Montreal company
I applied for PR from Toronto after moving here
I have Ontario Health Card, Ontario Driver License and my wife works in Toronto.

My closed work permit is ending on May 26, 2020.

The biggest question for me now is:

Can I apply for Bridge Open Work Permit? BOWP
or
Should I extend my work permit with current employer.(They are not ready to give me a extension if the work location has to be Toronto)

Has anyone in similar situation applied for BOWP and got it?

@legalfalcon Please advice.
Thanks in advance.

You are entitled to apply for a BOWP.

Who can apply for a BOWP
To be eligible, you must:

  • live in Canada (Quebec not included)
  • have a valid work permit that expires in 4 months or less
  • be the principal applicant on your permanent residence application
  • have submitted a complete application for permanent residence and passed the completeness check
  • have your acknowledgement of receipt letter
    • we send this letter to your account after we get your permanent residence application

See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio.../extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html

VO - Ottawa
Yes that’s the slowest VO currently. I’m FSW-O so even down the priority for that office. But I’d be happy to see a movement even if it’s for CEC, because that would mean there’s at least someone working there, but as of now, it looks bleak.

Hi
Is BGC starts only after eligibility is passed or it is done simultaneously when eligibility is under review

My Current Status shows below
Review of Eligibility We are reviewing your eligibility
BGC : We are processing your background check
The BG status will not be changed in the future.

It's almost as good as coin toss whether you will receive your GCMS file in 30 days or if it's going to take far longer (Some/one GCMS provider has disproportionately been receiving 90 day extensions, so beware from where you request)

This is based off stats from IRCC see
https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/i...te/publications-manuals/atip-2019-2020-en.pdf

CBSA on other hand has a better track; review this detailed comparison for requesting Gcms Notes from IRCC vs CBSA https://bit.ly/34nuJPu that others are quoting from

IRCC-ATIP will give you notes back around 30 days or a month. I ordered twice and both received within 30 days.
Here is the link to order notes through IRCC: https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do
