No you do not have to make an account its online heres the link:

You need to put uci or application number and some other info in order to check the current status of your application.

I successfully linked my OWP request and it says "Pending registration" what does it mean?

My OWP status has changed to "Submitted" now.

Hey thank you, I called them and they have not received the email(AOR), they told me it usually take 2 months...

So it appears 3 people from early October are still waiting for AOR...

Yes, i contacted Customer care ..as per them its not in the system yet. they cant even tell whether they have received or not. However tracking number showing it was delivered on 02- Oct. I donno wat to do.. should i resend all the docs again?? donno

Wait another week as it usually take 4-8 weeks .

Like someone said, you don’t need to. Your sponsor can use ECAS to see progress.

CIC home page > Check your application status (on the RHS, below Most requested) > Select Family Sponsorship > click online tool (in the section Paper applications)

Identification type
Select Client ID Number / Unique Client Identifier or Application Number / Case Number

Then, enter the Principal Applicant details in the following sections :

Surname/Family name
Date of birth
Place of birth

GCKey is the login details to enter in your online account, where you can link your paper applications and also see all your applications with IRCC, provided they are all under the same Unique Client Identifier (UCI).

ECAS or CAS (Electronic Case Application Status) is an online tool that doesn’t require any login details. Anyone who has details of your application can use it to check the progress. For example, your sponsor could use this instead of login in your GCKey account.
