Hi Everyone
My application submitted August 8th but returned yesterday due to the incomplete processing fee.

I am working in Canada, so I applied open work permit + spousal sponsorship.

Can anyone tell me how much I have to pay for it?
We paid $1,280.00 CAD for PR and Open Work permit.
Hi

When you select option, I suggest you make two different payments (I’m assuming they refunded and you need to pay). Here’s what you should pay

Sponsorship + PR : 1040 CAD (75 + 475 + 490)
OWP: 255 CAD (100 + 155)
Total: 1295 CAD

Thanks Kathie, I am sure about the second point now that i need not fill those forms. But about my first point:
So in the application package of OWP, just like you I checked until 'Document List' section. Added my wife's documents after that according to the checklist (passport all pages and marriage certificate) and DID NOT keep any of my documents in there. Is this the way it should be?
Or should I keep my documents like copies of PR card, DL, employment docs in there as well. I am confused as I called their customer center today and was told that I should keep OWP package within a separate envelope inside the bigger envelope (under PR checklist) that would got to a different immigration officer, other than the guy who is handling the PR application. So concerned about it.
The correct order is

PR checklist
OWP application (including all documents, bar codes payments)
Bar codes (IMM 1344 and IMM 0008)
Documents required

We printed the 5556 checklist and only ticked in the « documents list ». We place everything in order according to the checklist. I don’t remember if we put the bar codes right under the checklist page. We attached it all with paper clip and put it under the pr checklist. We didn’t put in a separate envelop though. We added all documents required, even those documents that were included in the pr application.

Just noticed we missed those points

• the stamp made by the Canadian authorities on your most recent entry into Canada; and
• any other marked page.
I hope it won’t get returned...

I'm a little worried too! I attached all the PR stuff but for the OWP I just attached the application to change conditions form and that was it. I had no idea that there was an additional checklist and documents for that!
September applicants were looking into this as well. From my 'research,' you won't get anything sent back if you don't have the checklist or additional documents. It's is EXTREMELY unclear on the website so if you didn't attach the checklist, extra copies of your info, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The only reason I've seen apps sent back is missing forms/signatures/docs etc. I'm assuming what they do is to make more copies of your docs if you don't have extras when they mail OWPs off to another office. Which could "theoretically" (I'm talking very vaguely here) slow down your file but there's no evidence of that, really.

I submitted the checklist and extra documents because I realised and was able to get them together very quickly. But they weren't in a separate folder, like someone said an officer said on the phone, lol. If you're applying with the checklist for PR/spousal, it's really unclear what to do for the OWP app since it's included and you'd almost always do it online in other circumstances. And since it's technically still a "pilot" program, I think they're a bit more lax/understanding when things aren't 100% the same across 100% of applicants.

Good luck, guys :)

I don’t think you need an envelope for OWP inside the PR package but you do need to make a separation of those documents. The order is:

PR Application Checklist
<
Owp checklist
Owp application (IMM5710)
Supporting documents + receipt (make sure you’re paying $255)
>
Owp barcode + Pr barcodes
PR documents in order as resquested in the checklist

i put all the documents between <> in one clip paper, since yeah they are processed in a different place.

The received date in the spreadsheet is the one you get from tracking your package or the date your application was physically received by IRCC? So in your case, it would be yesterday. And it’s that date that is used throughout the sheet (days between Received and ...). The message you receive from IRCC that they received your application is AOR (acknowledgment of receipt) which according to the most recent application sent takes about 45-50 days after it was (physically) received.

hopefully once they gather enough data from the pilot and decide to launch an official procedure, they would update the Work permit form and clearly detail the procedure. For example, are the wp bar codes supposed to be with the owp application or together with the PR bar codes? I put it with the owp application but who knows if it’s correct. Let’s just wait and see.

This forum has been a great guide throughout the process, just dropped off my application package. I look forward to hear fellow applicants progress and bounce of ideas for any future hurdles along this process. :)

Are you sure it asks for any marked page? We sent owp with PR and follow the 5556 checklist and only put the visa pGd and biodata page.

I checked other threads and many said they only sent the 5710 form plus payment and got it. I was unsure so we printed the 5556 checklist and include all documents required. Let’s see in January when the owp start. coming out.
Yes, IMM5556 (06.2019) checklist--documents list:
Photocopies of passport pages clearly showing each of the following:
· the passport number;
· the dates of issue and expiry;
· your name and date of birth;
· the stamp made by the Canadian authorities on your most recent entry into Canada; and
· any other marked page.

Well, the good thing is you saw many samples that they got OWP only with 5710 and receipt. Do you remember from which month? I really hope everything will be fine.

Stupid question but what if Spouse if USA citizen, below criteria isn't available as no stamps are provided at the port of entry for visitor.
· the stamp made by the Canadian authorities on your most recent entry into Canada;

I am waiting for the police check from FBI to send mine. For anyone sending OWP, remember the total fees are 100+155 so 255 CAD. Good luck everyone!

For those who are sponsor, any of you sponsoring a PA that is on a TRV (visit) but that has proof of cohabitation?
Hello Laurahd,
I need help, I am completing documents for my wife for spousal application. I little bit confused with OWP checklist. Is it possible can you send me URL for Open work permit checklist so I can download the right checklist and IMM forms for my wife application? I will be really grateful for your help.
