Most 2019 applicants are f**ked unless people make enough noise. The processing is definitely not first-come/first-served, for the simple reason that doing so would not help with the IRCC's KPIs (e.g., 80% within 12 months). They must be thinking that as long as 2020, 2021, etc are processed quickly enough, having earlier ones wait won't affect their numbers so much.

Claims on the website, such as "we are now processing applications received between ... and ..." are nonsensical bits meant to fool the sleepy. There is in reality no such processing going on for 2019 applicants. Otherwise, they would be close to finishing those applications by now, and their own records (see ATIP information revealed here) shows that they are nowhere near that.

2020 applicants feel the same about 2021. so its anyone's guess. But 2019 should be prioritized in any case but sadly they dont listen to me.

I think that its not about 2019 vs 2020/2021. Its for every year. They only work on certain % of applications every year. Its just not with pandemic or pre-pandemic thing. Surely they have kpi for every year hence they leave behind good number of applications every year and move ahead with good kpi to make sure every year kpi stays green.
Lucky ones get into the first bus and rest of unlucky ones wait for longer(whenever the last bus comes to the bus stop to pick us up).

Yes, same case for all years.

Does anyone know how long the prohibitions check is good for? Also, do the background and prohibitions checks need to be valid only until a decision is made on the file or all the way into the oath date?

I am trying to calculate my chances of getting oath by mid May... (otherwise i need to start looking at 3rd country visa applications)

I don't know about prohibitions, but I saw some applicants have their BG check go back to in progress after decision was made on their files.

interesting... so it probably needs to be valid all the way until the oath date. I guess since prohibition status could also change it might be similar, but (hopefully) they never take that long once prohibitions have been passed).

All the checks done (RCMP, CSIS, Immigration, Physical Presence etc.) need to valid until you take your oath. If any of these expires after DM before you take the oath, then the application goes back to in process.

Mr C I just wanted to say that as much as I agree with some of your post about KPI's etc, I too also thought yep 'Jackanory' in regards to them currently working through Sept 2019 applications....however low and behold....my statuses have now been updated to 'complete' and the older website link tells me that a 'decision has been made' so may they are on it.....but yes at a very very slow Snail's pace

Hi All...my Ecas status changed to complete but in new tracker oath ceremony is still In progress...I'm confused now..

Thanks, good to know!
