I didn't get any interview or FP request, it just moved to completed for all sections except citizenship ceremony. Also I noticed that my minor son application hasn't moved a bit, it just says " prohibitions completed " on Oct 6, 2020
Any suggestions ?

The status moves differently for minors.

Rest assured, you and your son will most likely become Citizens on the same day.

Congrats and all the very best for a speedy oath invitation!

Need help - if anybody can help answer couple of questions:

I see all statuses on my online tracker shows as completed except for prohibitons. Today I have been requested for Police Clearance Certificate from countries I have stayed for more than 183 days. I stayed in India previously for more than 180 days after I got PR but since then have covered the number of physical presence days needed for citizenship. I got PCC from CGI in 2019 after I filed my citizenship application in anticipation that they would ask for it. Since I filed for Citizenship, I haven't travelled but I am flying to India in two days time because of personal reasons.

Question 1: Can I send the same PCC letter that I got in 2019 since that covers all the previous years prior to application? I will be unable to get one in 30 days time since I fly out.
Question 2: Should I let IRCC know that I will be out of Canada for the next couple of months? Will this hamper the progress of my application which is only oath after I send in the PCC?

1. if you havent entered India after you received this 2019 pcc then you can send it.
2. you dont need to inform. just get it fast and send it. i dont want cic to put on hold just because you are going out of country.
Many pcc takes time, it doesnt happen in 30 days for many countries hence they know about it. They will send second reminder too if they thing that they need it quickly.

Given the situation, i would say that you send this. Travel. Get another pcc. And then send the new one. Any other ideas from anyone else?

This is a weird request and this is the first time I'm hearing about a PCC request at this stage in the process.

So, if you NEVER went to India after you got the Indian PCC in 2019, you can submit the PCC you have now and clearly mention that you haven't travelled to India after obtaining the certificate. This only works if you are planning to submit it immediately (before traveling to India).

IRCC expects applicants to inform them if they are going out of country for more than 2 weeks in a row but I'm not sure how many people are following it. Its up to you, I guess.

Good luck.

I found what I was thinking of. If you look through the guide for citizenship application, you will find this:

To be valid, the police certificate must be either issued

  • after the last time you were in that country, or
  • no more than 6 months before the date you sign your citizenship application
Since your case falls under the first clause, it should be OK.

Very hard to say and it varies between applicants and the local office. I'd say expect it'll take about 2 months in order to avoid disappointment (you might receive it much sooner though).

Good luck!
