Travel for the purpose of obtaining immigration services is non-essential. If you are in Canada, and are seeking to travel to the border in order to make an application for a work permit, study permit or permanent residence, you are asked to consider federal and provincial guidelines for self-isolation and social distancing. Do not travel to the border for these services until further notice. If you are currently in Canada as a visitor, student or worker, you can apply online to IRCC to extend your temporary resident status. By doing so, you can continue to stay, study or work in Canada while your application is being processed. This is referred to as implied status, and as long as you apply before your current document expires, your current immigration authorizations and conditions remain unchanged. In-Canada services are available through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Updated on CBSA website.

Can I land in Canada with COPR in the current situation?
No you can't. CBSA has confirmed they're not processing any PR landing due to the huge influx of Canadians returning overseas. Plus, if you're departing from outside the US, airlines will not allow you to board the plane because COPR is not considered permanent residents.

Guys, I received my PR Card on Mar 18 and my wife and kid got it on Mar 17. I initially thought that my card is lost.. but then it is totally normal to receive cards separately for family members. :)
My application was approved on Mar 13.

someone posted this, which made me calm myself

Hi Everyone

Have been a silent observer for a while, here is how my timeline looks.
  • Category: Express entry, FSW - O
  • AOR: 21st October, 2019.
  • Medical passed: 11th Oct, 2019
  • Biometrics Request: 13th Nov, 2019
  • Biometrics Done: 19th Nov, 2019
  • PPR received: 10th March, 2020.
  • Passport submission: 17th March 2020
  • IRCC: Application status changed to Approved: 21 March, 2020.
Is there any whatsapp group that I could join to network?

Additonally, I also saw this, which could help those who already have COPR and had plans to land with COPR in the next coming days - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/coronavirus/permanent-residence.html

Have a look at the category - Approved permanent residence applications (COPR and PRV)

Good luck to one and all!
