Did anyone received any updates from CIC regarding background verification, our status shows "will send a message once background is started" or application in progress. We have only few days left... could anyone anticipate when we expect some updates from CIC (Background to start or Request for Passport) based on the experience.

Hello everyone,
Just called CIC, I was told that:
Eligibility: Recommended passed
Haven't asked other questions, but according to my notes my Criminality passed on 27/11/18.
AOR 26 Oct
MEP 26 Nov
Nationality: Russia
No ghost updates, IP2 since the very beginning (I suppose those who're required to give their biometrics are on IP2 since AOR but not sure)

What is your AOR ? Mine is Oct 11, mep/Ip1 since 9 nov no update after that . 24 days left to 6 month timeline. I think as they hv huge backlog they r taking time ... some ppl called CIC and they were told by agents to wait for 1-3 months more after 6months ... so we cannot say anything when will they touch our applications. I am also waiting that when atleast ip2 starts background check starts or any kind of update . But everyday pass like this

Received passport request mail in the noon 2.30 pm (IST).
FSWO India 1+1
AOR -16th oct
Med passed - 16th nov
No update till 12th March. Just a ghost update on my cic application and moved to IP2
And got the golden email today.
P.S. I never ordered gcms notes. However, called cic once in Feb and got to know that my file was transferred to NDVO, nothing except that.
Guys I believe these guys keep working on our files, but the agents doesn’t exactly know the status. I wish you guys best of luck and I’m pretty sure Oct AORs will definitely be getting golden emails by this month end. Keep an eye on your emails. Thanks

Great....Very positive indeed....Mine case is same as you....So i expect ppr by next week as my aor is 23 and visa office is ndvo....Current trend is 5 months for ndvo and hope thats the case with me too...Fingers cross

Call cic or web enquiry or gcms notes. In my case I called them and got to know
As per my application status, its not..but when i called, agent said eligibility is met and security, criminality in progress...i confirmed, she said she meant background check is in progress.
