Hi Everyone, i have received yesterday Dec. 20th first e-mail from CIC saying that They have received my application on October 30th 2017, now i am not sure, can i link my application number and UCI number to the account i have created (GCKey account), i tried to link it twice but it says this application number does not exist! so am not sure what is the problem. however, when i tried the "Check Application Status" on CIC website and used the Application number it showed me my husband details (whom i am sponsoring) and it says the status : "application received".

My 1st question is:
Is this first e-mail sent from CIC means that this is the AOR1?

My 2nd question is:
Can i link the application number to GCkey account now or i have to wait for couple of day or is it after they send me another e-mail that i link my application?

My 3rd question:
How long does it take from now till i receive an e-mail stating that my application is under process?

NOTE: My spouse application was sent from outside Canada (Kuwait) and he is of an Egyptian Nationality.
Thanks

I was wondering they asked medical exam first as our Sched A is attached, I assume we don't need to supply it, and PCC could be requested afterwards. However, there is no SA yet. I don't understand the logic, see if PA passed medicals, there won't be something uncertain for SA? I supposed it should be SA confirmed first, then others. Otherwise we may waste the cost of medicals? Thanks for helping.

Theres no logic when it comes to CIC :)

you can usually login to ECAS with the application number and Sponsors info to see if it says "decision made" usually that indicates SA.

1) yes
2) you can link it now
3) theres no known timeframe, for some its 2 weeks for some its more than 2 months

theres many different ways to link info, you may have to try it couple times. heres the steps i followed and these work most of the time:

Go to the following address:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/account.asp
Continue to GCKey. After you create your account, link your PR application to the account. (If you do not have a representative (lawyer), you will be able to link your application to your account)
1. Log in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application (Assuming 1 PA, 1 Sponsor, 0 dependents)

Oook, thank you! I logged on eCAS of SA, it shows Decision Made, that could be assumed as SA....

After you logged into MyCIC, on Application/profile detail page you should see [View submitted application] on the left hand bottom. When you click that, you should reach the page titled [Documents submitted by the client].
Hope it helps.
That helped a lot. I found it. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your help, i tried your tips and it worked, it is now linked to my account. however, in the application when it asked for the number of family members including the primary applicant i wrote 1 only because i thought they are only asking for the number who i am applying for not including me as a sponsor!
i dont know if this would make a difference in my submitted application. I hope not :)

I have another question please,
in my GCkey account under Submitted applications or profiles, under "Details" it says
"Your Action Is Required"
but no e-mail or message sent to me in regards of any actions
can you advise me what it means when it states under details that my action is required and what is the action exactly?

this is normal, its always there when you first link your app. if there are no messages yet, you will get a message soon asking for PCC, Sched A, or medical

I checked your post history, and see you just got your AOR on Dec. 20. Don't worry! I received my AOR on the 19th of Dec. and my GCKey was stuck like that for a day, and then the next day when I checked I received a request for Medial, and the message had changed.
Great! thanks for your replies everyone.

Nad1017, it is great that we both have submitted our applications almost at same time. good luck to you.

My sponsor just received email from CPC Mississauga stating that my app will be processed at Mississauga. I don't know if it is good or bad, but at least it's a movement for me.

I also got the same email today. Does it count as AOR2?
