Just a general question, how much travelling is too much. Assuming one has enough 'buffer' of days before application.

Let’s say, person A has 10 foreign trips totaling 100 days and person B 3 trips totaling 50 days during the relevant period. Assuming both have same 'buffer' of extra days before applying... does person B has advantage over A for being less frequent traveler, in terms of quicker processing?

I think the trigger here is how often you travel, a lot more than how long you have been away. For example: A person who made 150 day trips to the US does not have single day of absence, but has a heightened risk of RQ...

Hi all,
I have a question. For the Two (2) pieces of personal identification, can we provide documents that are already provided for other items? For example, a copy PR card and Passport bio page are already requested for other checklist items. Can PR card and Passport bio page also be the 2 IDs? If so, I am assuming we need to provide two copies of each then.

Thank you,

I would say one is enough, that's what I've done.

Hi All,

When I was applying for permanent residency with sponsorship by my Canadian husband, this forum was a wonderful support.

I am back here again now that I can apply for citizenship having fulfilled the requirements under the the Bill C-6 changes of October 11, 2017.

I will post about my application as it moves through the system for general info and comparison.

So far:
Application sent via Canada Express Post (signature required) October 18, 2017 from Montreal
Delivery verified by Canada Post, signed October 20, 2017

Physical Presence days credited: 1309

Hi...

IRCC recieved my application on October 18 and i got my AOR with file number November 16th.

1568 days

From Calgary.

Hello Everyone
I applied in Oct 2017 as well, my application was received on Oct 20th 2017.
I have completed 5 years of PR, so I am well over min. 3 years requirement. (Number of Days present in Canada is 1695 days)
I am not able to check my status online, nor I received any kind of AOR yet
Also Mine is a single application.
I live in Vancouver

1. Application Received: 23-October-2017
2. AOR - 23-November-2017
3. Started processing: 19-December-2017

I live in Calgary :)

I received a letter from IRCC that my application has been randomly selected for a special review exercise. Now they are asking a lot of documents including fingerprints and entry/exit records etc. Anyone here received something the same.

I travelled quite a lot for work and even work for quite sometimes in the US. Anyone here have any idea on how to get entry and exit records in the US. I contacted embassy of US in Montreal and they just sent me a link to a website CBP which actually does not give a complete history of my entry and exit record during the relevant period of my citizenship application. I am also originally from the Philippines and I have no idea how to get this record from my home country.

This is really getting to be a very frustrating. I hope anyone here can provide some help. Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear that. It can be quite frustrating dealing with RQ.

You can request your USA travel records under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). You will need to create an account and follow the instructions. I believe FOIA only provides entry records.

(copied from the thread linked below. Credit @steve)
1- go to this link: https://foiaonline.regulations.gov/foia/action/public/request/publicPreCreate
2- create an account or continue as a guest ( I recommend the creation of an account)
3- select the agency: CBP FOIA division
4- fill in all your personal information.
5- type of record requested it will be: Entry/ exit
6- in the description put the details of your request.
7- click preview and submit.

https://foiaonline.regulations.gov/foia/action/public/request/publicPreCreate

To get exit records, you can retrieve them from CBSA:
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/agency-agence/reports-rapports/pia-efvp/atip-aiprp/thr-rav-eng.html

More information on FOIA can be found on the following thread:
