Quick Question - When did you pay your fees? Right before you sent in your application? I know you need to include proof that they are paid, just not sure how far in advance I should do it. TIA! :D

I paid mine about a week before the application was sent

I was able to link mine 8 days after they received it, but it's all about getting that lucky combination! I was trying for a few days before that as you only get 5 attempts in 1 day

goodness I bet its gonna take me weeks to figure it out HAHAH! gah i'm already going insane. :o :o :o :o

AOR1= Acknowledgement of Receipt. Is when CIC sends you an email notifying you that they received you application.
SA= Sponsor Approval. Is when the sponsor has been approved and they will forward the application to the visa office abroad that will process the applicant.
AOR 2= Acknowledgement of Receipt from Visa Office..is when the visa office abroad notifies you that they have received the application

AOR1 = Acknowledgement of Receipt (from Mississauga)
SA = Sponsor Approval
ECAS = is the online thing where you can track your application, not sure what it stands for haha
AOR2 = Acknowledgement of Receipt from your specific visa office

Thank you for all your messages!

I had another question (sorry!) I don't really know the process, I sent the application to Mississauga. Once it's been received and the sponsor approved, does it stay it Mississauga? If not how do I know which visa office will get it? I am intending on living in Kitchener.

Thanks!

It depends where you are from, or where you are living at the moment. For example, my husband is from Guatemala, so his file got sent to the Visa Office in Mexico City, where they process all applications for Central America (and more!).

I was born in the UK and have lived here since Birth. Does anybody know where it will get sent?

Thanks!

It will go to London Visa Office although there is a chance it will be sent to Ottawa (I'm also from the UK and mine was sent to Ottawa). They will confirm which office it is sent to when they give you the SA letter

Thank you very much ScaMD that's really helpful, seems silly to send it Canada and then come back to London again! Hopefully it goes to Ottawa :) Does your other half live in the UK or are they in Canada?

You're welcome :) We were hoping for Ottawa too as they seem to be much quicker at processing at the moment! We are actually both in Canada as I was lucky enough to get an IEC working holiday. What about you and your partner?

Oh ok, that's really lucky. We are both in the UK, my husband has Canadian dual citizenship and is planning to move back once I get approved for a PR so I am a little worried that is going to cause a delay/decline but looking at the acceptance he meets it all, we also have a job offer and affidavit that we will be living with his parents until we can get a mortgage. I am hoping it won't take the full 14 months to process!
