We went to the States for a visit no updates online or any available when I called CIC about our application.
We just flew back to Ottawa yesterday and we were sent to immigration at the airport to renew my visitor status and were told that our decision was made and they sent our our package yesterday!!!!! It never occurred to me we would find anything out at the airport but it was an amazing surprise to come home to now that this can really be my home!!!

Stuff that's happened since I've been away from the forums; Shineon got the PPR, Mardek also got CoPR, Needhimback is actually back!

I see you all have been quite busy!

So we finally got the letter a short while ago! No idea why it took so long, but long story short it is an interview queue letter. To be honest I'm not too worried about it since it seems the 2016 applicants are getting interview dates not too far in the future.

So there's that, as for the GCMS notes. THEY STILL HAVE NOT ARRIVED!

Miraculously last time (and it happened to be the first time ever ordering notes) we got correspondence within a few days. Told the form was incorrect, had to email them back and forth a few times until CIC finally agreed and gave us the notes. The process in all took around 9 or 10 days from submitting the (incorrect) signed paperwork to actually receiving the notes.

At this point I'm sort of tempted to fill out the request form incorrectly and let them get back to me :P

Other speculation; The file seems to have been processing fast thankfully, although now I'm around 99 percent certain the missing birth certificate for the PA was the cause of the delay in processing. I won't know for sure until we have the notes in hand, but I'm pretty confident that is was caused this interview queue letter to get to us when it did. If I see within the notes there was some activity soon after receiving that document, I'll be 100 percent convinced that my hypothesis was correct.

So now we are back to playing the waiting game. I start school again in September (Finished the undergraduate degree, off to the Master's!) and I get a break in December for the holidays. Will visit again then but hopefully by that time the interview is done, CoPR is in hand and she can accompany me back to Canada as I return in early January.

Hi Faisal,

Sorry to hear about the interview letter. I had a feeling that's what it was.

I don't understand why they took so long to send it...

Can I ask you how long you have had the "we sent you a letter" on your ECAS before you recieved it and what the difference between dates the ECAS update on the letter has?

I feel sorry for you about the interview :( wish that the interview will come quickly. Keep us update with gcms not.
For us, SVO has my wife's passport since 3 weeks. We expect to have it back soon because we had an URGENT flag about medical expiring soon.
Wish you the best

Our medical will also be expiring in October, I'm guessing the sooner they ask us to redo the medical the better!

IAmBule - Answered this in your PM as you know, but for anyone else who was wondering, the letter is dated June 8, and eCAS shows that they have sent the letter on June 8.

Status still shows in progress for the PA side as normal.

You can always ask for them to extend the medical instead of redoing it. You have up to 15 months after doing the medical to request an extension.

They will not ask you to redo the medical until eligibility is determined, so in your case after the interview.

There is a note in the email form VO that I dont understand,

Please note that the visas will be valid only until 2016/09/04.

At the moment I am in Canada. Can I send the passports to other office in Canada?

thanks..

There should be something saying if you're in Canada you can send to Ottawa.

Hey Everyone,

So the GCMS notes came in today!

Neat little feature I missed before is that at the bottom it shows you the exact date and time they pulled the electronic notes. Pretty neat!

Some quirks with the notes. First off, there really isn't much information provided. One note mentioned Interview Required and that was literally the entire note, two words.

The next day the note mentioned that interview queue letter was sent to the PA along with the original documentation etc. So this tells me that POS Indonesia had some major delay considering Singapore VO had already dispatched the letter that date (For real and it wasn't a delay in processing).

For the eligibility section it's still in progress. I found another few oddities here though. First thing is the due date isn't set to a year in advance (Maybe Bring Forward Date if that's what it was called). I also found it odd that the interview is assigned to RC-9570, the Mississauga office. I assumed this line should say RC-6057 (For the Singapore office).

But then later on in the notes it shows in the Event's log, it shows the interview (date and place is blank) although it says the event office is Singapore (Although I'm guessing she will have the Interview in Jakarta, Maybe Surabaya but I don't think VFS Global is tied to PR applications).

PS. That missing PA's birth certificate that the SVO never told us about DID in fact hold the application. Shortly after they had received it through uploading it through the case specific inquiry form, I noticed that our application had been picked up again.

So there you have it!

As usual I don't disappoint with my walls of text!

I wish this could be cross-posted to the Singapore thread as well. But I'm confident you guys are smart enough to help me out here to understand these notes.
