Hi ya 'all. Newbie here . We applied in Oct 2014 and got our AOR last Mar 24. However, until today we have not received our medical exam request yet. Anyone else in the same predicament? Thanks.

Which is the right one to choose to get an an Extended Open work permit

A - A work permit with same emploer
B -Restoration of your status (this does not apply since my WP expires in June)
C -An initial work permit or a work permit with a new employer
D - Temporary resident permit

He is the main applicant and he got his work permit open to any employer, but attached to his occupation and to the province too. I (as his wife) received a total open work permit for 2 years.

1- Do you live within or outside canada ?

2. If Outside Canada, what's your visa office ?

Some visa offices are notoriously lag in sending out MR.


We should (or I can) start a well formated spreadsheet that can help answer these questions

Thanks, thing is I am the Main Applicant, my spouse and I both have Open WP. Does option C still apply?

option C, as its a OWP your not extending but applying for a new one based on current status of main applicant ( Your spouse )

Current Open WP for my spouse and I expires in Mid-June..

PR application sent in.

AOR and Medical request received - I called CIC and was told my medical has been uploaded but when I checked Ecas, I didn't see nothing ( i'm not worried though)

So in this case you are applying for BOWP based on AOR not for OWP.....i am not sure do we have same application form................if yes that option C is what you need to select.

if you are applicable for OWP extension , i am not sure what can be the base of extension but still you have to select option c only...

My MR done on 26 and they received it on 3 April
but till today not updated my status I called cic they said they already received that .. my question is y it takes to much time is my file stopped or they still working behind
