You have to be sure to click on the "Application received" to see the other lines (if updated). I did the same too. I guess my meds were probably received between April 5 - 7th/ I log into the main page that shows application received. I only clicked on the "application received" 2 days ago and within it was the other line of "medical received" added.

Hi Everyone!

I am an Alberta Nominee and i already submitted my Pr application to CIc last October 9 2014, got my Aor on March 4 2015, Medical request received on march 10 and was done last March 28. My work permit will expire on May 14 2015. I applied online for an extension of my work permit using my Nomination Certificate last January 15, 2015. And upon applying, i have decided to try applying my husband's open work permit together with my application (from the options online i chose "yes" in accompanying/applying for dependents). My husband was currently working in Qatar. Until now i haven't heard anything on my application. I've been calling CIC almost weekly to check the status, and they always tell me that my work permit is still on process. They ask me to send an authorization letter so i can access my husband's application. And since its my husband's first work permit application, i think that i might done it wrong.

I wonder if this is the reason why my work permit application was put in a delay? And if ever they will reject my husband's application, is there any possibilities that my WP application will be rejected as well? Is there anyone who did the same thing as mine? Is there anyone who has an idea with this? I've besn trying to ask Call center agents regarding this and they just keep on asking my husband's uci number then aftr checking it, they will just tell me that i am not allowed to access his file since there is no authorization form on his application (though i submitted it twice already). I am a bit worried as well since my work permit will expire soon..

I hope someone can give me some advice..
Thank you in advance guys! God bless!!

There is another forum that caters to visitor visas or work permit for people not in Canada. My suspicion is..with you om Canada the pathway for application differs from your husband's who in Qatar. You're doing an extension of a current WP, he is not. He'll probably need an entry visa. So my guess is you cannot add your husband's application for wp to your extension request. This is my guess

To those who has dependents:

On your medical - do CIC update medical received for each and everyone? or they will do it all at the same time. Saying your dependent is not living with you (not in Canada).

That is one of my thoughts as well. But i wonder, why do they taking it this long if its invalid? And do you think it will affect my work permit application if they rejected my husband's application?

Thank u tenkrun10!!! I really appreaciate ur response..

Hi Folks,
Kindly help me on this. My friend is an OP-Nominee in Pilot Masters graduste stream without a job offer, and she is in Canada with a Visitors Visa, and is not having a WP. Inorder to apply for new WP we contacted CIC call centre and the rep said she can apply for an OWP, but, she has to apply to NEW YORK office. And, my friend is not a citizen of US and why would She suggested to send her application to NY? whereas it clearly says on the CIC website that people with AOR can apply for an OWP. Meanwhile we also contacted OPNP office and they asked us to apply to CIC with AOR. We are very confused. Kindly suggest us what to do.

Guys need help about medical test ---------- as per CIC there are 7-8 doctors in panel list for immigration medical test in calgary , and most of them don't have appointment available for next 30 days , and as per cic we have to get it done within 30 days....from last one week i am chasing the doctors but didn't able to get a date which is within 30 days , so in this situation what can be done ? can we write to cic or any workaround ?

I suggest that you do the following
- Send CIC an email immediately explaining your situation ask for an extension (30 additional days at least)
- With the email sent for extension, book the earliest date possible (it may be prudent to complete this step prior to asking for extension so you know how much extension and buffer you need)
- Call the 7/8 Doctors weekly or daily to see if any spots miraculously open up (this happens more often than you think). If something opens up within your current 30 day timeline, then you lose nothing, if it doesn't, step one and two should buy you time.
