hey guys
after the request for any missing documents and ppc and landing fees on july 2nd 2015,
i received a request to under go RCMP fingerprinting today, kinda makes me nervous
Whenever CIC sends an e-mail either they will confuse you or ask money, this time they did the two together. Eventhough, the guide clearly states that there is no need of RCMP check they are asking for it. This is very strange isn't? I think they are trying to make a fortune out of us. My friend has 5 years of experience in Europe and he is a Post Doctoral Fellow, when he applied for express entry they asked him to apply through PNP. I am going to do my RCMP checkup and I am going to send the records, I don't want to give them a chance to play with my application.

You can totally do that but call centre agent advised me that don't send any documents unless CIC requested that from you . Because that might can confuse visa officer and your application can take more time to process.Always remember every application get processed differently so if they request RCMP fingerprints from someone else its is not necessary that they are going to ask the same from you.Just FYI

Agree, fingerprints are only asked if they see conflict of identify , means they may see a person with similar name or any other reasons and want to make sure both are identified so need of finger prints.

Why are you confusing others? The document checklist clearly states that this is a requirement and not an option. So you have to submit this with your application. (Inland applicants)

I think this will clarify things. As per my knowledge a Canadian police certificate has to be provide only when requested . if u already have submitted it there is no harm either. Some people get requests for finger prints some doesn't.
If there is any documents missing they will ask for it.

This conversation about RCMP fingerprints actually makes me nervous as I'm not currently in the country.
I just hope they don't ask me, otherwise.... ?

Don't worry buddy. If your name has some issues as per their criminal record procedures they will ask for RCMP fingerprinting. I have been asked because my passport has the Surname field as Blank. So when they check across their database they find a lot of people who have their surname as blank, so just to make sure that I am not having a criminal background they request to RCMP for doing a fingerprint check to be on the safe side.

So if you have your name and surname in order in your passport there shouldn't be an issue. In case they ask and even if you are out of the country, you can do RCMP fingerprinting from current country. RCMP directly sends the results to CIC if you need.

Providing Canadian police certificates are not required. It is mentioned in all the documents. RCMP fingerprinting is a special requirement for special people :)

Agree with vegasIndian. Caution ,
Do RCMP fingerprinting from current country ??
one question , PNP inland applicant always needs to be always present in Canada right(Except short vacation) ? if that's not the case his application may get cancelled this is what i heard. So if you do fingerprinting from current country will that not impact the application ? please correct is this correct understanding for PNP applicant .

From what ever I have read (Not "Heard") it is not mandatory that you have to stay in "Canada" as its not necessary you will always have a approved visa based on certain situation. There are situations where you may not be able to renew your visa and may need to travel back to your home country. It is based on the class of your PNP application. Family class is not mandorty to stay but for employer direct it is necessary that we be in the country. For RCMP, it doesn't matter from where you do it as RCMP is based out of Canada.

Exactly. People need to relax. Without confusing others.. On the other hand no one is relaxed until they get their PR
