by "contact you" they mean they mailed out your visa. they don't send anything else to tell you their decision.

Thank you. I'm tracking my DHL package but it hasn't been activated as yet. I will continue to check and update you.

Hello all. I also wanted to share with you that in the AOR2 letter that the VO sent me in which they requested for additional information AND the payment for permanent residence fee, it said that after you make the payment, please inform them sending the receipt both to a mail in canada and a mail from the mexico VO. So i sent it like that, they responded saying they had received it BUT they were still waiting on the other information they had requested along with AOR2.

So when I finally sent the requested info, I took that same previous email to let them know that I had sent it, they responded they needed the guide number from Fedex and date I sent it, so I responded and finally they confirmed:

Madam,

We acknowledge receipt of the documents you have recently submitted.
At the moment, there is no need for further action on your part.
Our office will contact you should we require additional documents or information.
Thank you for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Lol...so "don´t call us, we will call you"......lol I know I have to wait now.....I just wanted to share because I think it was good to make sure they knew I had sent it instead of just waiting to see if they would just someday open my package and realize it is additional information, maybe they can start working on it right away!!

So even I didn´t want to bug them, I think it was good I did and I was so happy they responded positively.

I know. But it's so depressing just sitting here not doing anything. Our lives are on hold until CIC-O gets things moving. It seems they are at a stand still or something. :( i just want to get it over and done with honestly

applying for a TRV does not have any impact on your PR process. they are 2 different things, and you're applying for pr precisely because you can't get a TRV and you want to be with your spouse. why would a pr application be denied because of failed visitor visas? that doesn't make sense to me.

Hey,

we had applied on March 12th and are still waiting to hear back... As rhcohen2014 TRV outcomes doesn't have any impact on the PR since its not connected

So I was over at the July 2014 thread looking at their timeliness in their spreadsheet and it's not looking so good for us (CPC-O) because most of them are still at the point of SA. A few of them (very few) of them Landed a while back and some have gotten to 'In process' point. Majority of them are in limbo. :-[ The waiting for us continues... so deprrssing :'(

Keep in mind that most of people just add their initial informations on spreadsheet and get abducted by aliens and never come back.
Most likely there's more good news than it appears.

"why would a pr application be denied because of failed visitor visas?"

If someone was denied a visit visa twice and shortly after the second denial commenced a relationship with a Canadian, one could see how that might raise suspicions about the motivations of the PR applicant. Of course, the context here is applying for a TRV AFTER having entering a relationship, but even then, it's not automatically irrelevant since I recall someone discussing their GCSM notes and the denial was flagged by another officer (probably in Mississauga). The principal overseas officer did write "genuine relationship" to address the flag, which resolved the problem, although I would point out that it's a circular argument because the purpose of the review is to determine whether it is a genuine relationship.

I'd just remind people here of other comments I've seen on this forum:

"I spoke to an immigration lawyer this week who basically said, when you have a romantic interest(spouse, girlfriend/boyfriend) in Canada, the chances of being rejected are like 99%."

"i agree with above.. Even if you have clear evidence of ties to your home country and $$ cause we had that in place in China and still NADA."

"well, i learnt the hard way.. applied twice and it got rejected."

I substantially agree that it doesn't hurt to try, not least because there was a legal case where CIC decided someone was inadmissible for not disclosing a previous TRV denial and the denied person's lawyer successfully argued that the failure to disclose was not material as it would not have affected the processing or outcome of the PR application, but I do note that CIC apparently didn't agree with that view until told to comply by a judge (it could be that CIC just didn't like the misrepresentation as opposed to what the misrepresentation was about, but the reality is that previous denials are asked about and therefore presumptively relevant).
