if you have not received notification about sponsor approval, then you will want to call the call center and ask them the status of your application. since you are beyond the posted processing time for first stage, they will be able to put an inquiry in about your file. it's quite possible you were approved and the application was transferred without you receiving notification (it happens).

if that doesn't result in success, then contact the sponsor's member of parliament (MP) to have them inquire on your behalf.

i think it is too late for friday to call them and inquire...will do that on monday

I did my fingerprint criminal record check thru commissionaires. It was close to my house, a little more expensive than city police. But got my results about 5 days later.

Thank you so much!
That's great.. in my case the city police is close to me =D
Hopefully they'll give me the results in 5 days too.

the commissionaires use the RCMP, the reason you get results fast is they take your prints then electronically scan them to RCMP, I believe it was Quebec, possibly Ottawa. And I am not a criminal so they can back faster for two reasons. I paid about 77 dollars for that. Not sure if City police are fast, they would be cheaper Tho.

How long is a police check valid for?

3 months until cic receive.

Seems like October applications have come to a stand-still! I stopped checking my e-cas. It's been a full week since I logged in! But I'm checking email and my mailbox everyday. I'm slowly learning to be patient! I was reading a CIC manual and it said their best practice is to process Family Class application in under 6 months and they try and get at least 80% processed in that time. Hopefully I fall into that 80%. I'm at five months now so 4 or 5 more weeks to go? I hope?

keep in mind the visa office processing timeline is separate than for SA. So 6 months for your visa office is from the date they received the application AFTER SA and not from the date it was received in Mississauga (though you are in queue as an Oct applicant)

It depends on the visa office. Most people who have gone through the Nairobi office in these forums, have had their application processed within 6 months from start (Mississauga) to finish (Landing).

Oh boy, so probably another 3 months. Great! But SDVO has a pretty quick turnover rate of under six months so I'm still holding out hope. My husbands medicals expire in May, so hopefully whosoever is working on his file takes that into consideration.

I really hope so, I was becoming an E-Cas junkie, had to step away, but if it takes longer than 6 months, I can see myself falling off the wagon again.

My Ecas changed to decision made today. They already have my passport since March 13th. Any one explain

i'm not sure what's to explain. dm means "decision made". if they have your passport, then my guess is it's being sent back to you with the visa.
