Hey guys, I had posted this in the Visitor section but no one replied till now. Can anyone help?

We had submitted an application for sponsor my wife and have SA and in the mean while we are hoping to apply for visit visa - we are aware how hard it is and wanna to give a shot Smiley

We had done the online questionnaire to "Find out if you're eligible to apply online" and got the unique number/key - it told us that we will need this to continue the application. We decided we will continue on the application later on and closed the window and now are confused how to get the required document list which was shown at the code page again.

I take it we will need a MyCIC account but can I use mine (logging in through my bank or my id) to check and apply for her visit visa or do we have to create her own GCKey user ID and password and then input the code to get the application.

I am the principal applicant & am applying for a Tourist Visa too. The sponsor may give letters of invitation & support but the PA has to apply for him/herself.

I got the unique number when I checked my eligibility too, but you can only upload 2/5mb worth of documents, which I don't think is enough space!
I read on other forums that people found it difficult to choose which documents to upload and couldn't send in all, following which their Visitor visa was rejected.

My suggestion is that you send the application via VFS in your city as you have to submit all hard copies of documents and there is no limit to how much you can put.

I'm sure you've done your research as well and know all the necessary documents required, I am submitting AS MUCH AS I CAN so that all bases are covered and they have no reason to reject me.
Still there is a very high rejection rate in the case of people who have a PR application in process.
Lots of negativity on the forums, but I'm not going to let that get to me, and neither should you!

Just go ahead and apply and hope for the best!

Oops it went wrong


Hii i know visitors visa is tough thing to get but i wont demoralize u .. All the vry best wish u lots of luck ... My inlaws went to meet my huaband as they had vvisa .. But i could not as there was a fear of rejection and i could not take this step as it cud ruin my pr case but nw as i am in processing ...m still confused .. There is no harm in giving a shot ..u neva know wats in future..as i am currently a homemaker ... I was guided so.. But i would suggest u to upload a letter mentionin that u are workin/studyin.. If so .. Coz that increases the weightage of ur documents and u dnt have ne reason to stay jus incase nethin goes wrong..stay positive...coz i got a frnd who went on vvisa to canada ..she said that sge was studyin and had to come bak to india so as to complete her course and is just on a visit ..i hope this mite help u

Only logic, not actual facts

So, I would say, you need to make an account for her, as it is her application, not yours. Even with sponsorship, both you and your wife have different UCI numbers, and separate accounts in Ecas. The same with MyCIC, I would suppose.
But as said at the beginning, this are only my thoughts, guessing only.

I received a letter today, dated 15th January, confirming my partner's sponsorship approval. Yay!

We were under the impression that we would have received an email so it was a surprise to receive the letter. Not that we are complaining!

I had received an email on the 19th January requesting an Australian Police check. So presumably the application had moved on and was being processed? Perhaps wishful thinking.

Either way, happy news.

I havent been able to log in to check ECAS. Is it automatically generated or am I meant to set it up? Thanks

you don't have to set it up. it is very common for ECAS to not work until AFTER sponsor approval. there are people who report it taking days, weeks, months, sometimes never. only the application number and uci #s will work to sign in. receipt numbers are useless on ecas.
