It seems like Ottawa is moving! They sent me an email today request for the fees for the PR... Hubby and I will be making the payment soon. Does this mean that Ill be getting my PR soon?
Congrats on making progress!tupas.alyssa said:Hi, just wanna share. I know its not much of a deal but I just checked today and my ecas says in process. So I am just happy knowing CEM is now looking at my papers.
The wait will soon end for all of us. I am hoping I'll be there before our 1st year anniversary which is in June.
Good luck all.
thats correct.... can take anywhere from 6-10 weeksshishkabobs said:Hi all! I haven't signed in in quite awhile, I thought it was better to stop dwelling on our application given that the timeline given on the CIC website for Kiev was 15 months.
Anyhow, our ECAS changed to "In Process" February 25th - so only about a month after SA. Nothing happened for awhile, and then we got married in mid-March. We didn't think it would affect the application (we applied as common-law and gave ample proof we had been living together and sharing everything for about 3 years), but we sent an email to notify them anyway as it's a "change in marital status", even if we don't see it as such, and the guidelines say you've got to let them know. They phoned us within an hour of us sending the email and asked us to send the marriage certificate asap. We sent it by courier and literally the next day they emailed asking for my husband's passport. So, I guess somehow things do move faster if you're married, for whatever reason.
We've got until October to enter the country. I guess all in all the process took about 6 months - but 3 of those were waiting for SA!
I can't update the spreadsheet, by the way, has something changed in it?
My question - and I'll continue to search the rest of the forum for answers, as well - is for those of you who have your PR card. How long did it take to get it once you entered the country and applied? We are trying to figure out when we should go to Canada. We could be ready for September, but we need to be abroad for an event in November, and he won't be able to leave Canada and re-enter without his PR card, correct?
Congrats on the PR. As shortyP mentioned its taking any there from 6-10 weeks, I got mine in 7 weeks.shishkabobs said:Hi all! I haven't signed in in quite awhile, I thought it was better to stop dwelling on our application given that the timeline given on the CIC website for Kiev was 15 months.
