Thanks Katie, I did try it this morning but I'll have a go this evening. I don't have a UCI yet unfortunately. I just need to be a bit more patient I guess!

I got his UCI in his old documents (way back in year 2000 when he applied as PR). Ok, unwind yourself for now.. Soon it will be granted to all of us.. Have a nice day! :)

Hi all. A decision was made on my spouse's eligibility to act as a sponser on 13th November. We live in Korea at the moment and therefore are waiting for the letter as it will not be confirmed in an eail. Could anyone give an indicator of how long it may take to be posted?

Many thanks

It's usually posted the same day, and unless there was something missing in your application, it's normally an approval! congratulations.... if they wanted more documents before approving they would have contacted you, so if you haven't heard anything and you have a pretty straightforward application, then consider yourself approved, and welcome to stage 2!

Thanks Sweden,

The application is straightforward. It would just be nice to actually see it in writing. Oh well.

I was also wondering of the timeframe between stage 1 approval and the file being sent out to the VO. I was guessing about a week but would be grateful if anyone could confirm.

It's difficult to get a confirmation even from CIC... it seems that between a week and 10 days... from what I understand ( but might be wrong) part of the file (the electronic part) is transferred right away, followed by later on the actual file...
Good luck on stage 2,
Sweden

Spouse, common in law partner or dependent child >>32 days>> Working on applications received on October 29, 2012 >>

Hope to hear stage 1 approval !! Mine was received on Oct 20 @ CPC - M

wow i completely forgot about this forum that helped me so much thru compiling my paperwork...

I'm (British) being sponsored by my Canadian wife, application received in Mississauga October 29th 2012 and my wife has been accepted as a sponsor as of Nov 22... just playing the waiting game... Visa being processed in the London Office..

We both work on cruise ships so don't expect much contact from us both... but at least we can live and work together while we wait it out...

Best of luck to everyone else in the thread!
