Hello every body
My sponsor called CIC from Canada to ask about our application as we haven’t heard from it since they received it on 4 October
They said it is still under process and they gave the file number which is is this format T1xxxxxxxx ( 10 digits after T1) I went to check under immigration file number but it said (Immigration File Number/Application Number starts with a letter and is followed by a combination of nine (9) numbers or letters. (Example: B000000000 or EP00000000). )
Then I tried under confirmation of permanent resident number but it said (Confirmation of Permanent Residence Number (IMM 5292 or 5509) number should be in this format: T100000000.)
So where is the mistake?
Thanks a lot

I received my AOR yesterday, and approval this morning :)

Both were via email, and the approval had a formal letter attached to it in PDF form. The email specifically stated that we will not be receiving a copy in the mail as well.
congrats and thank you for the pm .Havent received anything yet.

I Really hope everything is ok with our file!? The more days that pass, and the more people that get accepted that applied after us is making me nervous!! But congrats to all that have stage 1 over with! I hope soon that we will be with ya! xx

I'm a bit nervous about stage 1, as my Canadian wife didn't have all her tax documents, as she'd been working in the UK for years. Hope it all goes smoothly, then I think stage 2 should be straightforward.
Rosskilgour--Not to worry. My Canadian husband had NO Canadian tax docs, as he's lived and worked in the US for 20+ years! We gave CIC a copy of our first joint US tax return (1994) and the latest, plus one years' worth of bank statements for his personal and business accounts (he's self-employed). We had Stage 1 approval in 33 or 35 days.

I love seeing how quickly this group of applications is proceeding! ;D

So why did they just leave a whole chunk of us behind... doesn't seem fair.

I'm so glad to hear that!! I'm self employed and included all of my bank statements as well, I'm so worried that it's like with banks where self employment to them means the same thing as no employment, and I'm actually more worried about stage 1 than stage 2 because of that!

Hey Bacontoaster I totally agree it is unfair and very upsetting.I was just having a look at the time line of the spreadsheet seems you guys hasnot received any news since 38 days the application was reached to CIC.Yesterday I was on the CIC site and I saw the processing time for sponsorship approval was 35 days now.I wonder if you guys need to contact them.May God bless us all and I keep you all in my prayers.

Mississauga handles Stage 1 (Sponsor assessment), Ottawa handles Stage 2 for sponsored applicants that live in Canada and the US. US applicants, if interview is required, will be interviewed in the Visa offices in the US that are still open.

Is it true for US applicants , stage 2 will be done @ Ottawa ????

AOR received for us today!! :D

Thanks lawgrrl. Fingers crossed. I'm getting nervous now, hope we get stage 1 approval in the next two or three days then I can relax again for a month or two! I am definitely more worried about stage 1 than stage 2. I feel like if stage 1 goes fine then stage 2 will just be a case of waiting out the long London backlog until they get to ours.

Speaking of which - as Mississauga seem to be working amazingly quickly right now, when do any London route people reckon we could be seen to? Any ideas? Just for fun...

Hey Ross,

I think generally going by our spreadsheet at the EARLIEST 100 days after sponsor approval. It can be anywhere up to about 160 days going by previous applicants. On average for this year it is around 200 days for total process. That said Miss has sped up so in theory so should average wait times but I would definitely expect to wait at least 100 days once London has your file.

Good luck. :D

Hi,

The CIC website says 8 months at the moment for London. I hope it is closer to 160 days though, that sounds much better. :)

I'm the same as you Ross, I'm more nervous about stage 1 than stage 2. At least the waiting time is much shorter for stage 1. Fingers crosssed it won't be much longer now.

Mandy

At this point almost everyone with me got their stage one approval like 10 days ago, except me, so I'm definitely worried ???

I know I shouldn't be, but it's hard not to...
