hi megacity,

I am from Manila 2011 applicant too. Did you have problems in your application that it took it longer than usual to issue the visa? I too, am waiting for the approval. I am September 2011 applicant.

Nope! It's the first marriage for both of us, and we don't have any criminal records, no kids. We're pretty straightforward. Sooo frustrating.

Although we also applied in October, I think I'm waaaay behind you all.

I just checked my status today online, and this is what it says:

Received application - Oct 27 2011
Approved application to sponsor husband - Jan 24, 2012
Started processing application - JULY 14, 2012?!?!

What the heck is that about? But they did ask my husband for his passport in Feb, which he sent to them at the beginning of March. It just doesn't seem to make sense.

manila visa office asked to send the passport in start or in the middle of application unlike other visa office..

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

for me its not good.. because of my work that needs to travel

I have read on other threads that you can apply for a second passport in situations like these and it is acceptable to submit second passport for visa stamping and retain first passport to travel for work during this time

the requirement of getting a new passport is the old one..

Hi!!!is it ok if i ask what is your timeline?im also september 2011 applicant..tnx

Hi Everyone, I am in the same boat except I have not even had an interview or anything. I just ordered CAIPS notes for my file but it's going to be a full year on 10/27/2012. Based on the application timeline, does anyone have any idea when the case might be transferred to LA or be approved ? I know it would only be a guess but I'm frustrated like everyone else and getting very impatient as I thought CIC was better than USCIS but it seems like they are worse.

When I log into ecas all it says is

We received your application for permanent residence on October 27, 2011.

Medical results have been received.

@Roysingh we are in the same boat. I applied on Oct 27, 2011 and up till now no correspondence from Ottawa. All i see on e-cas is Application Recived Oct 27, 2011. Medicals has been received.

I must confess that I am extremely frustrated

Does anyone have the email address to CPC Ottawa by chance? I've tried looking on the CIC site but am unable to find it. Perhaps, it's just one of those days :( Thanks for help!

They also received my application on Oct 27, 2011. I'm going to speak to my MP the week of Oct 27, 2012 if I don't hear anything by then. I've had enough of this nonsense. Some people who have submitted their application after us have already received a response. This isn't right. My husband and I are already talking about me moving to the Philippines instead if nothing happens by June of this year. We have to start our lives some day. I'm tired of waiting for some stupid government to tell me when I can get my life started.

The stupid thing is when you email them they give you a generic response or tell you they received a large volume of applications. Today I finally received some information, please see below. The first part is generic but the last sentence says that I should hear from them in the next 2 months. Thank God!! :) I wish everyone the best of luck with their applications. I know it's frustrating when people who have applied long after you get approved and you are still waiting!! Hang in there and think positive but do follow up with them as I been bugging the heck out of them!!

Thank you for your enquiry. I verified your application and the file was transferred to
this office following the closure of Buffalo. We ask for your understanding that we are
now working through a large number of files which have been transferred at the same
time.

You should hear from an agent within the next two months.
