merry christmas everyone :) according to my friend after his sponsor evaluation approval he waited 2 1/2 months for his wife's visa. (pretty quick)

excited!!!! :)

hey guys!!! Is it possible to get a TRV while waiting for sponsorship to be processed? Would the approval of our sponsorship help to get it? it is very hard to get a visa being mexican. I applied for one in may, no sponsorship had been submmited, and they rejected it because i had too many ties to canada. Can anybody give me any avise?

Hi Octoberians , yesterday i got an Email from CPC Mississauga confirming that they have received my application on Oct 31st 2011
they give me my UCI and a file number
so i guess very soon by God's grace i will receive the approval to sponsor my wife.
But i have some few questions:
- my UCI number is the same as my permanent resident card number coincidence??
- the E-mail says : Dear (my name) we have received your application for permanent residence in Canada BUT i am sponsoring my wife ! i am already in Canada is this correct?
-those who have received an Email did u have the similar kind of E mail? did they address the E mail in your name (the sponsor ) or your spouse /partner ? since she/he is the one applying to permament residency?

I am asking all this because after reading the Email, i felt like if i was the one applying for permament residency

Thanks for sharing how your Email looked like

Hi Zagalo,

Our e-mail was the same and then we got sponsorship approval 2 weeks later.

Hey Guys , it's kinda weird but your E mail should be in your inbox soon , no worries , good luck to all of us! and thanks to those who reassured me about the Email i received!

hi... can anybody help me clear up the payment details of sponsorship??? I cant understand the explanation of our representative & what he told my husband :) It seemed he's making lots of money from us :) I read in CIC, that..we have to pay:

$75 for sponsor
$475 for me (spouse) <----- is this for the approval of sponsorship, right???

$490 <----- this is AFTER the approval of sponsorship? Right of permanent resident fee???? So, our respective visa center can process our papers???

I'm wondering why our representative charge us $800 , then another $600 , then the last one will be $400 which is exclusive of $1000 dollars we already paid him. We paid him already $1800, he said, were due already to pay $600.

I know if we hire a representative, we really have to pay his service. But whats $800?? $600?? $400????...............Im confused. Its bigger than what was stated in the CIC website.

Please help. Thanks.

That's right!!!! that's why I got mad at my husband, though he's the one paying it. He's just okay with anything...but cant give me any explanation. I always want to account everything. We just need a representative to make things fast and complete coz I might miss out something, but the charges were not clear to me. If my husband is okay with anything, I AM NOT. THanks for the tip!!! helpful so much.

we have a consultant too, but he works free for us. I filled my app. in full and he just checked if I missed something but my hubby was lazy so He had to fill it for him. :) we paid only cic `s fees . We were lucky this time :)

Actually the 75$ is for the sponsor papers and acceptance
the 475$ is for ur papers and Visa
and the 490$ is for Right of Permanent Residence fee for coming and living in Canada
so total would be 1040$ for Canada Immigration
If you use a Representative then he has his own fees for doing ur papers and filing it but the fees for Canada Immigration should not be more then stated on website, if he is asking for more money you should be getting in writing a break-down of what the money ur giving him is paying for, he might be over-charging you, it should be only 1040$ + his fees for doing this thats it, find out exactly what this money is paying for because when a representative does ur papers it should be a set flat fee for his work + the 1040$ so find out whats going on

thats right, something is wrong. I will talk with my husband about this and I will ask our representative how he charge everything to make it clear for me. My husband just say...yes, yes, yes...in everything. So, got irritated this morning. Thanks for the help :) Ill talk with our representative this time. I just need a confirmation before I will ask him...so, I will talk with him now, at least its clear to me bout the payment :)

How about the landing fee??? Is it part of $1040???? If not, how much do we really pay for landing fee???

Hello again , thanks for the replys regarding the phone number for Canada, i have just checked my status online and it seems a decision has been made and they have sent me a letter on december 16th so fingers crossed its the decision we want.

the landing fee is the right of permanent residence fee
