Hey guys ,
i just called the CIC call center to know what is happening to my application to sponsor my wife , it was received on Oct 31st 2011 so i have been waiting more than the normal waiting time , the agent told me they are getting close to it as they are still with applications received on oct 26th , gosh what a long wait hope things move fast , just to update u guys

Here's the email that we received from Canadian Embassy Manila (CEM)

Dear XXXXX:

This is in reference to your permanent residence application sponsored by XXXXX.

In order to continue with the processing of your application we require the following:

- wedding photos and other photos together.

To ensure the timely processing of your application, the document(s) and information we have requested should be provided to us within forty-five (45) days from the date of this letter.

Only original documents or, when unavailable, certified documents are acceptable.

The file number above must be included on all correspondences with this office.

-we already sent tons of photos to CPC-M together with our application and now the CEM is asking for it again.. just how many pictures do they need? or maybe, the CPC-M did not send our photos to CEM? what do you think about this guys? does anyone of you encounter or receive a letter like this? any comments or suggestions will be much appreciated. thank you!

Thanks for that update! I'm also waiting to hear about my sponsorship for my partner, they received my application on October 11th 2011 and I still know nothing!! this is quite a stressful process!

wow! mate i think you need to call them and find out , they are currently processing oct 26th applications and i guess this week they might finish with october applications ,normally you should have gotten your approval already , did u get an acknowlegment of receipt at least ?

Yeah I received the acknowledgement letter on November 25th but haven't heard anything since....I sent an email today to CIC to see what's going on...my application is still in Missassauga but I'm in the UK so I can't call their help line...it's very frustrating!

i see ! are u a canadian citizen?because if you are a permanent resident , you must be here in Canada when you sponsor your partner but if you are a canadian citizen then it 's fine then , i think you should try to have an update on your case

It's confusing from CEM's part, it's very clear that they already have your papers and yet no ppr.
It can be that my papers are already with them since my approval date is ahead than yours,
it's just that they are not sending request to us, hmmn.... what can be the reason for delaying
the request. Hope that any time this month we can hear the ppr from them.

Argh! I feel your pain! the email is: question@cic.gc.ca...make sure to include your name, DOB, ID, Application Type, When, Where it was sent, Address and Phone. I received a reply from them today, they said they had contacted the office in charge and they were looking into the issue, and that I should contact them again in a month if I hadn't had a reply.....this is not helping witht the already stressful situation! Good luck to you and your husband, hope to hear some news soon!

Woo Hoo ! Got my confirmation by email that I was approved to sponsor and my application will be sent abroad!!! FYI Application was received Oct31,2011. Email approval received today Jan 11, 2012!
