Hey guys,
I have recently got a job offer in federal government and have to move from Calgary to Ottawa, starting from June 1st. Today, I received invitation to appear in citizenship test on June 11, 2018 in Calgary office. I am wondering what is the best strategy in this case. Should I request to move my test to Ottawa or fly to Calgary to write test. The application is for 2 people.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions.

If you don't mind the probable delay, move it so you don't have to fly. If money is not a problem and you really don't want a delay, fly back and take the test.

Keep in mind that at some point in this process you'll need to move the file, either before the test or before the oath. You could fly back for the test only to face an inevitable delay before getting invited for oath. You could have a conversation during the interview about this after your test.

Tough call.

Just checked my Ecas, pls update

We sent you a notice on May 9, 2018 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on June 5, 2018 at 9:00 AM.

Glad it’s almost over

Dont worry never renew passport even it takes 2-3 months you can request to process urgently if you need to go out of country but hope it will be done in 2 months

Congratulations. Happy for you. My wife's passport expires in 2 months and we are hoping that we don't have to renew it and can become a Canadian citizen before that. Seems unlikely at this point but fingers crossed. Thanks for your response.

Just completed Citizenship test in Calgary......It was really nice experience, everything was smooth. Whole process took 1 hr (went in at 8 AM, was out by 9:05 AM)....Test was easy and some were common sense questions. Interviewer was really good and made it really quick. Told us that we have to wait until July or Aug for Oath as all slots are books until that time. Best of luck to rest of the applicants.

Hi,
Please update the spreadsheet:

Updated. Congrats!!

Just to confirm on your visa office you had test? and sending the oath invite. Is it Scarborough or Mississauga?
