I just got an email from CIC inviting to appear for the oath on 17th Aug. I didn't expect them to be so quick and I won't complain

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I had to apply to renew my PR card lately because it definitely seems unlikely that my file will be processed before the year's end. So unfortunate...

It has been quite a journey for itself from receiving COPR at 9pm in a cold winter night to receiving citizenship certificate at 9am in a hot humid summer day.
My journey came to an end today at Mississauga office, but I can't walk away from this forum without stepping up to help others.

Final update - took the oath today in Vancouver. The journey is complete!

(The paperwork never ends though - still have to apply for passport, update nexus...)

I assume they will send me an email soon regarding oath, correct? If so, Does anyone know how long it takes to get the oath invite letter?

If you don't have any travel plans then no need to renew your passport.
