Hi all, congrats to all whose applications are moving along well.

I applied last October and I live in Toronto (downtown). My application is currently IP for over two months now. Is there a way to know where is my case being processed? If not, what's the consensus idea for Toronto applicants? Thanks!

This isn't a valid reason for urgent processing.
Let me futher explain: according to the website

To apply for urgent processing, you must be eligible to apply for citizenship and have an emergency, such as:

  • needing Canadian citizenship to:
    • apply for a job
    • avoid losing your job
    • go to a Canadian school, college or university
As a contractor for an international firm, if i do not travel, i do not get paid. I had to cancel my contract to complete my residency for citizenship, hence I have no work. I had email discussion with my former boss (that I attached to the request) that i can resume my post once I get my citizenship.

Did you have to provide proof?
Yes, I created a letter and proof (emails, contract, business permits, icorporation docs) that explains my situation. I am a contractor for an international company. They send me anywhere in the world for a specialized skill. I had to terminate my contract to complete my residency for citizenship. After applying for citizenship, I emailed my former boss. After a long discussion, he mentioned that after getting my citizenship, then I can start again with my work. I had to apply for visa everytime I travel, once I become a citizen, I wont need to apply for visa that often.

You can call the IRCC call center and ask where you're being processed. A lot of Toronto October applicants are still waiting for their invites.

Agent told me that for some they complete background checks first, then schedule the test. For others, it's the reverse. You're probably on the former case, like I am.

Calling them is pointless - nothing is wrong. Two months is nothing. You need to be patient and wait - everything is correct so far.

Thanks for the replies. I know 2 months is normal at this stage of the applications so I am not worried about my files.

Since I have plans to travel, I need to have an estimate for when to book it. Also citizenship is useful for my travel, so I'd like to travel as a Canadian. Because seemingly GTA offices have vastly different averages of processing time (from DM to oath), I'd like to know where is my office. :)

It says DM under status today. When I click it, the final line is test invite (Line 4). No new lines. Please update.

For sure its easier when you become a citizen no doubt about that, but - the question is, why suddenly it became impossible for you to do your job without being a canadian citizen? I assume you managed to do your work for the past 3+ years during your eligibility period?

They don't consider " apply for a job" category for urgent processing, I requested the same and was declined, during interview, VO said we don't consider this.

I have got a fingerprinting request. Can anyone tell me what is the cheapest option to do fingerprinting in Montreal. It is appearing both Police and RCMP does not do fingerprinting service. Thanks
