OCI process

@eas2lv We got response from OCI team they said "OCI process goes through a clearance process from the Ministry of Home Affairs, which cannot be interfered with."

Not sure if it's a standard response. Anyone you came across on this thread who got same response?

It is a standard response and i got it too. when i requested them to make my process faster. Since i have a ticket to travel on 11th December 2023. Applied OCI on Oct 10, 2023 & ACK on 14th Oct. Currently under process.

The automatic visa cancellation on OCI approval is another speculation out there. Has anyone got that confirmed by the consulate? I know its possible to get new Visa while holding an OCI card -- I have done it in the past for a family member for some odd reasons. There were no questions from the consulate or at immigration where we presented the visa.

There is no concern if holding both visa and OCI (or if OCI is still in process....). I don't think it gets cancelled, its just that if you have both, OCI takes priority.

I previously had e-Visa as OCI was not yet in hand. When i arrived at India Immigration, the officer said he doesn't have to look at my visa, since his system already shows that my OCI is approved .. and just let me pass....

hahaha @eas2lv - this shows your mindset vs my mindset. You are a positive person and you asked a 'positive' question and so you got an YES answer. I asked a negative question and MrMarwah answered with a NO. Here is what i asked and what he replied:

I asked: "If one has an OCI application in process, and during this timeframe, if she/he acquires a valid Entry visa and travels with it to India, and if the OCI is processed right during their flight to India, will this automatically cancel the entry visa on the passport of the traveller? Will this then prevent them from entering India as the traveller does not have the OCI booklet in hand (and they had already boarded their flight to India by the time the OCI courier landed at their doorstep), and the traveller presents a valid entry visa at the port of entry and the officer sees that there is an OCI against the traveller's name in the system?"
Reply was: "No"

OCI proceed on 16 th Nov with all three dates
So far no update on BLS site
When I could expect OCI in hand , I had flight on 27 Nov

If all three processed dates appeared only yesterday, wait for "Counter delivery .. " update until later this evening and expect courier dispatch only on Monday.
EDIT: as per your previous post you got processed updates on 15th evening (with 16/11 in IST). With that, I would have expected OCI to mail out of BLS today. If you see no movement until Monday, contact BLS.

Apologies if this question has already been addressed. What is the current processing timeframe for in-person OCI applications at the Ottawa BLS?

Our travel date is 30 nov,2023 we are so happy as we get evrything on time thank you so much who make this page giving all updates that helping the people for their travel plan
