OCI process

Not trying to scare you, but at when you go and collect they ask for the payment receipt along with ID proof..
I do not know (or anybody will be aware), what happens if you do not have the receipt

I have seen in Calgary BLS they only asked for PhotoID.

For Entry Visa - applied on Oct 30th it was processed and printed on Oct 31st and yesterday in transit from consulate to BLS so I am sincerely praying I get that today

I also applied on 30-Oct in BLS winnipeg i do not know why my
Application status is still “Under Processing” on VISA website

Got OCI in hand today.
Waiting on wife's, already proceeded, so should be here by Saturday or Monday hopefully.

Kinda cheeky, but I should file a chargeback for the evisa I applied on Sep 19 and never received.

Not actually going to do that cuz I can't risk getting blacklisted but it's definitely fair given payment for a service not rendered.

In Ottawa they were not allowing to collect without a receipt. Copy of receipt on phone worked.

I dont know what happened later.

Both me and my wife have India passports. Our daughter was born here few months back. So i do not think that is an option. With the surrender certificate requirement

The form do say, spouse and children of indian citizen in the purpose drop down.

No surrender certificate is needed for applying on the basis of Indian parentage. Parents' Indian passport copies would suffice.
