Hi Pratik - this information is super helpful.

My understanding is that after getting the Canadian Passport, we can travel to India on Indian Passport under the 3 month-grace period. During the stay in India, surrender your passport at your local RPO, get the surrender certificate, apply for exit permit through the online application and leave within the expiry date.

Is anyone inferring anything else?

That is correct. I have decided to travel using this method. I am traveling on Nov 30. When are you traveling? Hopefully things go smoothly at every step.

iii. do I have to write a letter for employment or a verification letter shared by the HR will do?
iv. added names of my parents in the relatives section in Part B. Relationship Certificate has anything to do with that? If yes, which documents are valid?
v. Surrender Cert. POA, or Citizenship Cert needn't be uploaded online. Do I have to carry self-attested copies to the BLS?

ii. I understand Indian Origin Proof would be the cancelled passport. What should I upload for Indian Visa? - I don't think you have to upload anything for Indian visa.

iii. do I have to write a letter for employment or a verification letter shared by the HR will do? - I got an employment verification letter from HR. But some are saying that writing a formal letter is enough. I feel employment verification letter from HR would hold more weightage than a self written letter.

iv. added names of my parents in the relatives section in Part B. Relationship Certificate has anything to do with that? If yes, which documents are valid? - I don't think we need to provide relationship certificate for parents.

v. Surrender Cert. POA, or Citizenship Cert needn't be uploaded online. Do I have to carry self-attested copies to the BLS? - But you will be submitting self attested copies of Indian passport surrender certificate and Canadian citizenship certificate (in addition to others ) in the application package to BLS. Those who are going in person to BLS are advised to take the original documents too.

(i) That's what I did
(ii) For "Visa" place holder, the old guideline used to be to upload the landing doc/COPR but no its longer required. BLS told me to not upload anything there and I followed that advice
(iii) I did not submit a letter of employment and BLS agent did not ask for one -- that said, it doesn't hurt to include one and a letter from HR should be enough
(iv) Not sure I follow: for immediate relatives living in India only their names, address, relationship and age are enough. No relationship cert.
(v) Yes, original and copy if submitting in person

In addition I was asked to include a copy of marriage certificate, spouse's passport and OCI though I was applying on my own.

Anyone picked up the OCI after Ready for Dispatch status from BLS Brampton?.

I have paid courier fee but I have only three days gap between expected to get OCI processed and my travel date but I want to walk in to BLS and get pick it up directly(no refund required). Tickets booked few months ago for 25th Oct but OCI process may be complete by 19th or 20th Oct (current trend) and then weekend(21st and 22nd) if they dispatch on 23rd Oct it will reach home on 25th(day of my travel).

My friend visited FRRO and talked to immigration officer at Mumbai airport. Both said the same thing - Come to India on Indian passport, surrender passport at RPO, get exit permit from FRRO.

FRRO said exit permit usually takes 1 week to process, but if there is a delay in hearing back from Police or Election Commission,it could take more time.

About stay visa - FRRO officer said most likely it will not be required, but since it is a new situation for them as well, they are not sure. I have looked at the FRRO exit permits online. All of them have a field called "visa" which shows the visa on which you entered India. I am not sure what FRRO will put in that field for us.

I have decided to take the leap and travel to India. Hopefully, things go smoothly at every step.

Check with BLS on the phone to convert your courier to pickup. As you not asking for refund they should not have any issue holding the same. But trying this directly won't be a sane move.

Already tried, they are not picking up any calls for existing applications(status) or any options. Also counter girl during submission said delivery is faster than pick up because we don't have to sort at the BLS it directly goes into delivery batch without holding.

The day I submitted as walk in on Sep 27th.. since than it was underprocess status till Oct 4th when it changed to processing at consulate
