Have they kept your Indian passport & charged for 2 Purolator drop offs - one for original documents & second for OCI?

They created issue for my spouse's photo as well & wanted us to sign declaration; even when photo was exactly as per guidelines & used earlier for surrender certificate.

I paid for one courier OCI delivery for each of my family members and they didn’t keep our Indian passports. However, I signed declaration for photo.
I asked for no-add on services but gentle Indian lady charged for notification service though.

Has BLS Brampton/ Toronto started accepting walk-ins without appointment? I don't see that instruction anymore which mentioned that only appointments are acceptable.

I saw many slots and booked appointment for same day last weekend at Brampton location.

@CanEuro I submitted my application for OCI last week. You do not need any affidavit or anything. You just need to fill the online application using same information as in your current Canadian passport i.i. First Name as "XXX" and your Surname name as in your passport.

I applied for Indian Visa in Feb 2022, I did the same for that Visa application. I got visa without any issues.

Hello, did you surrender your Indian passport first before applying for OCI. Does your Indian surrender certificate name appear the same as your past Indian passport (without XXX, but with blank surname), or as per your Canadian passport (i.e with XXX and all)?

Many were available last week. The whole of Feb was green. Looks like they have all been taken up. You may have to wait for Mar slots to open or someone to cancel(which is tough to know). The site is very slow.

Btw, any benefit/point of choosing Brampton location over Toronto? I am in the east side so, Toronto is convenient.

Do all applicants have to go for OCI submission? including minors? and can we take appointment in the Visa / passport category and use it for OCI submission, I already surrendered my Indian passport and have to do only OCI for my family of 4.

Minor are not required but adults should be.
But from our recent experience it is better if all applicants go because of issues in passport photographs being made and photo has to be retaken at the center.
Many forum members have ,mentioned that if appointments for passport/visa, BLS allows you into the center and apply for OCI...

Thank you for your response, I've just taken 4 appointments for Visa application on 21st Feb and I will go in for OCI, I will update the forum about my experience.

I agree with Abbas' point regarding issue BLS is creating for photograph. They had objected to my minor son's photo even when he was wearing quite dark t-shirt.

Infact if you have not already got photos clicked or if not getting them for much less price, I suggest to get it clicked there itself. They will likely be lenient in other loot items.

They would need the photographs before so that they can upload the photographs in the online application first and print it.
