Hi Everyone,

I have a question regarding OCI. I want to apply it by mail.

  1. Draft or money order in favor of "The Consulate General of India - Toronto"
(Note: Fees payable under this draft / money is for Consular fees + ICWF Charge only). - $345
  2. In favor of BLS International Services Canada Inc. via - Nothing has been mentioned for this one.
Can anyone specify the amount.

Also, is it recommended to apply through mail. How long does it take.

Thanks.
For point 1 , yes you are right , for point 2 , for BLS payment if you are applying in person you can pay using cash/debit card

i would suggest you to go to apply in person if you can spare 1-2 hours from your schedule as in that way you will save money on courier costs if there any issues in application but again thats my personal opinion based on stuff i read on this forum , I went for Walkin at BLS Brampton

Thank you for the quick reply. Another question is regarding Employment letter, what does it need to have? Any specific format?

if you have time constraint and you need your OCI sooner, I would suggest that go in person and Apply. I applied through mail and there was some problem in my application, they returned it (which is now cost for one return and one re-send), plus it wasted more than 2 weeks of time.

Having that said, 1st draft for 355$ per person in favor of "The Consulate General of India - Toronto", you can remove the if bank can't support those many letters.
other draft would be in favor of "BLS International Services Canada Inc" for 7.4$ per person. (this is amount i paid, plz verify on the OCI site or by Calling them) OVERSEAS CITIZENSHIP OF INDIA (OCI) Miscellaneous services at Canada center (blsindia-canada.com)

Courier fee you can pay using credit card.

Again I would suggest calling them before sending your documents.

Its always good to call bls customer care and clarify your questions with OCI. I did follow their instructions and I didn't have any trouble.

Please someone help with below tracking questions:
Canadian born minor application (walk-in Calgary on Aug, 25)

I see 2 tracking websites, OCI (Gov. of India) and BLS Canada.
Current status on both as below:
"under progress" on ociservices.gov.in/
and
"Processing at consulate general" on blsindia-canada.com/

What is the correct and accurate way to track the application?
What would be the next expected tracking update(s) / Status?

Thanks in advance
