Are they accepting walk ins for OCI applications at BLS Brampton? I was under the impression that submission is only by appointment.

I submitted yesterday , i reached at BLS Brampton @715 and there were 50 people ahead of me but i was done by 915 am , based on what i saw BLS staff works really fast , hope that helps
Appointment not required. walkins will accept. 20-30 mins standing in line. very fast processing.
I am planning to apply for OCI shortly and have a couple of questions: can we apply for passport surrender (certificate) along with the OCI application? Or, is the surrender of passport a must before OCI application? Thank you.

Entry visa processing time is more than 45 days. Do they even make sense?
At that point, you would have received your OCI already unless they plan to process it for next 3 months or so.

The Surrender certificate is a mandatory document to apply for the OCI. So surrender first, and if you are planning to go to Brampton BLS, pls ensure you go to 60 Gillingham (for Indian Visas and Surrender) and not 40 Gillingham (for OCI, Indian Passports and everything else).

I submitted it on the 17th of August at Brampton and the status just got updated to UNDER PROCESS
