Hi, I'm seeing on BLS website that BLS Centre is open by walk-in for Toronto jurisdiction. I reside in Toronto. So would I have to walk in to BLS Toronto or BLS Brampton for new OCI application?

It was for my difference in place of birth on Indian(city/state/country) and Canadian passports (city)

Hi, in my Indian passport, under place of birth, I have city, state and have IND under country code. I think in my Canadian passport, my place of birth would be just thr city along with country code IND. So would I need an affidavit? I believe usually in Canadian passports, the officer told me that they don't put the state name under place of birth.

Either location should accept walk ins but be prepared to stand in line early before the centre opens as I think there maybe a lot of people waiting

Hi, do we need to write information in "Changed your name" section if name changed due to marriage? We have all documents with new name, still we have to mention old name with father's name in that section?

For passport surrender process, should we book an appointment in BLS website and do it at Toronto/Brampton? Also, do we need to select "Passport" category for appointment booking?

For booking appointment you need to select either the Toronto or Brampton location and then select Passport for Surrender.
Also check the BLS website on the landing page under Toronto jurisdiction you will see a pop out note saying Walkins are now open.
But if you are getting the booking appointment it is advisable so that you avoid queuing up early in the morning

Hi, for the scanned image and signature image, there seems to be an option to crop the images. So if we crop the images, then is there a risk of changing the aspect ratio?

Purolator lost my son's OCI card. They say they are not able to trace it and closing the case. And asking us to reach out to BLS.

Anyone had faced this kind of situation and how to proceed from here? Could not get BLS people on the phone as well. Do we need to file police complaint? Do we need to get any specific report from purolator? I hope it is possible to get a new OCI card. Thanks.

No. The images are cropped with same aspect ratio

That's unfortunate. How they can just close the case. Try this escalation matrix with BLS.

Sorry to hear this, with all the pitching by BLS for using Purolator, they must be held responsible for this loss! Try reaching out via phone or directly walk-in to the center and blast them. They should be able to issue a new OCI card, in your case ask them to process it without any cost as it is their mistake.

Thanks for the info. If I am booking an appointment, do I need to book separately for my wife and kid as well? Also, for surrendering passport, do all applicants including minors need to be there at BLS?

Hey everyone - online submission of the OCI application states that we need "Joint Declaration of Subsisting of Marriage" as a document for the application. Also, it asks for a "Relationship Certificate"
Parents' previous and current Passport?

Are all these really necessary? OR do we just follow-the checklist that's available online?
