Your application has always been in India from the moment you fill it in online in the sense that everything happens in GOI servers hosted in India. The best guess I have is that, "acknowledgement" happens when the consulate has compared the support documents with application data and made the application active in the processing system. Security clearance process in India will start at that point.Does the oci status website keep saying “no such record found “ until it shows the acknowledgement date ?
also what does acknowledgement mean ? Does it mean HCI Toronto has the application or does it mean it’s now in India?
If you are submitting it in person, I would suggest do not sign the minor's document. When you go to BLS they will ask you to sign on the designated section/pages at the counterFew questions , so I dont make mistake.
- Is declaration(last page of application) to be filled for minor child ?
- Who would self- attest documents for minor?
- Where and on which page both parents signature are required?
- Is NOC required in case of minor(I got print but didn't fill yet)?
Meditation karke jaana.. breathe in and breathe out...Have appointment tomorrow morning for OCI in Brampton. Any last minute advice?
Thank you so much.If you are submitting it in person, I would suggest do not sign the minor's document. When you go to BLS they will ask you to sign on the designated section/pages at the counter
-Yes
-Parents can.. If minor can sign/write his/her name it should be fine
- NOC is required with photographs of both parents
Gud luck is it under passport services or oci i mean your apptntmentThank you so much.
1. Yes. NoHello,
I am confused by the entire OCI process. If someone can please answer these questions, it would be really helpful. I did scan the forum, but there are so many pages and some contradicting answers (could be due to some change in rules/process). So if someone can answer these, that would be great.
1. Do I have to apply for surrender certificate first and then apply for OCI once I receive the certificate? Can they be done together?
2. If I choose to have BLS pick up my application, do I have to include my original Canadian passport? I will be traveling soon, so I would choose to not mail my original Canadian passport as of now. In that case, walk-in at a BLS office is my option, right? I am in the Waterloo region, so I assume BLS Toronto (considering that Brampton is too busy) is where I need to go, right?
3. For self attestation, do I just need to sign the printouts? Or am I required to add a declaration or something above the signature?
Thanks a lot.
Thanks, under OCIGud luck is it under passport services or oci i mean your apptntment
Demand draft I clubbed for three applicationsMeditation karke jaana.. breathe in and breathe out...
be prepared for the pit falls ke photo theek nahin hain etc...
Checklist ke all pages print out karke leke jaana (for each application)
Demand Draft for each application
NOC for minor needs photograph of both parents
Ok that is accepted by BLS.Demand draft I clubbed for three applications
yes, I figured it out later but lets see what happens. I hope everything goes well.Ok that is accepted by BLS.
Only thing is ke if one application out of the 3-4 applications you submit gets returned back, they everything will get returned because of single draft payment.. I know I sound pessimistic here but just wanted to highlight it you.
