Same here, ecas indicates a letter was sent, but call-centre agent didn't see any indication of such letter in the system. Sometimes I wonder, if call center agents even have access to the CIC files. Looks like they just tell stories...
glad im not alone on this. what is the date they sent you the letter?

Completely agree with the other reader's comment above. It seems the CIC bent down to frustrate the candidates by dragging the process for ever & wait till candidate inadvertently miss something for them to deny the citizenship.

Candidates got to keep evidence of their interactions with the CIC, in case one is required to prove it in the court of law.

Hi all 2011-2012 applicant...

I do not see why CIC not finishing the old application first and than process

for 2013 - 2014 - 2015..

anyone have any idea why they do this normally first come first serve..

Because they are lazy! new applications are treated under the new "one step process" so it is much easier and faster to process those, whereas, old applications for the most part have Residence Questionnaire that were blindly sent out to people and where people sent tons of documents so evidently it takes more time to review those.
They are also processing new applications in priority because it makes their stats look good. In a few months they will tell the whole world that citizenship applications take an average less than a year to process and they will brag about it knowing there are thousands of people that have been waiting for years and still don't know when their apps will be reviewed.

Yes very appropriate assessment. Perhaps, the CIC is indirectly pushing the candidates to withdraw their applications & re-apply by paying $630.

By processing newer applications quickly, the CIC can brag before election how their efficiency & easily solicit votes from new citizens. Probably they know well candidates who were tortured for over 3 years would never vote their party.

hello everyone,
I see an update on my cic application status, it says a letter was sent out on march 20th this is after receiving the documents from cit 520. strangely the call center does not see this update. anyone else see this update?
I don't see such a line on my profile either even though I received the same form, cit520 almost two months ago.

In most cases you do not get a line in your e-cas because you received CIT0520 especially if your application is old. For new applicants it is a different story, they do see a line in their ecas as soon as they are sent the form. CIC almost seldom updates ecas for old applications because their philosophy is to try to "catch" the maximum number of people that they suspect do not live in Canada.

I don't think its the oath letter because it says "if you have not yet provided the requested documents please do so immediately". zhading what does it say in your case?
1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on December 13, 2011.

2. We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on December 13, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

3. We started processing your application on November 3, 2012.

4. We sent you a notice on May 10, 2013 to appear and write the citizenship test on June 18, 2013 at 8:30 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

5. We sent you a letter on March 20, 2015. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the letter before sending us additional information, as the letter will outline all information that is required. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Nothing in my inbox yet... It's getting to the point where I start to adore these folks. Really, it takes tons of practice to work like this ;D

I did not find MP's much helpful either. At the most they get an update that its in processing and suggests you got to wait.

In fact I applied for my wife and myself in the same envelope and she has got this stupid RQ somewhere in 2012, pre-test. We've sent all documents right away, then passed the test in 2013 and waiting since then. I ordered 2 ATIPs, basically they didn't even touch the file until 36 months expired. Looks like in Dec-Jan 2015 all the clearances were requested again. And no other things since then. One call center agent said the file is assigned to an officer and is being actively reviewed. Other time call center agent said nobody touched the file since December. I have no faith in what call center agent says. But not many options are there... Contacting MP is useless, as folks are pointing out here. It's actually quite sad, as it totally ruins any respect for the government. But who cares? ;D

Welcome to the club of "unfortunates". The only thing that I can say is to keep pushing them otherwise it could drag for at least 6 more months, who knows. Even when the file is assigned to an officer one would think that is probably a good thing, maybe not, as it adds at least another 6 months or so to the processing time. These officers are only interested in new applications.
