Oath Timeline after test at Montreal Office

Helo everyone, I am new here, nice yo meet you all. I applied Nov. 2011, submitted RQ May 2013, passed exam April 2014, and was told today by CIC agent that I have to wait in line for an interview with a judge and that this decision was made in July. Interestingly, when I called 9 days ago (already in August), another agent told me that they are still working on the RQ and that no decision was yet taken. Anyone knows what should I believe or how long does it typically take to see the judge? Thanks.

Oh oh me and you its case. I passed exam 6 of mrch 2014 I applied 2012. RQ was 2013. I called many time they told you just wait for interview judge hearing.I don't know why?

I just called CIC to check and see If I passed the test (though I knew I passed). the agent was nice and he said - usually it takes 3 weeks nonetheless I will check your file. put me on hold for a min
and then he said "actually I see an update and your file is approved, you passed the test and queued to Ceremony" (the updated happened yesterday). I am happy to hear this

BUT I will call them again next week to make sure I get the same answer.

So Montrealia -it means nothing more right - just the wait to receive the oath letter?

There is no contradiction in this report. It could be that the RQ was reviewed by a judge at some point during the last 9 days and the judge decided that they have to interview you. If you want to be sure you could call again and/or order ATIP, but in this case, I think the message is quite clear.

I don't know how long it takes to see a judge these days in Montreal.

Actually, it does mean progress and it's good. For one, you don't need an RQ. Also, since the approval part is supposed to be faster nowadays (after August 1), there are reasons to believe that no further action is required on your file other than scheduling the oath. Patience, you're definitely almost there!

Because the application has to be granted before it is scheduled to oath? Correct me if I am wrong?

I don't know if call centre agents do these distinctions. They didn't do them with me.

Before August 1st there were a few steps that were all very close in time to each other: judge approval, application granted by CIC, and being in queue for the oath. In my case, about two weeks passed between steps, it took from early June to late June for my file to go from approved by the judge to being in queue for the oath.

After August 1 st, I'd guess that a file without RQ doesn't need to be approved by the judge and this process is faster.

I called again and this time a lady agent - said normal processing time is 2 years and you don't worry about anything now. she adds you don't need to worry about updates happening here ...I am like what? if I don't worry about my file then who else (I didn't say this - just a mind voice)

P.S last Friday a nice agent voluntarily went in and told that my file was approved. now I don't know which one is right
do they keep track of who calls and when?

Test results, judge approval (if applicable), application granted, queue for the test, all of them seem to happen very close to each other in Montreal.

A call centre agent once told me that they couldn't see all the things on the file because of different security level autorizations. My guess is that they see some of the above but not all, and each agent decides how to interpret what they see: some will tell you exactly what they see and others will tell you what they deduce.

If you want to know exactly what is going on with your file you have to order ATIP and wait. If not, just wait. Your file is in one of the stages that I list in the first line, and that means, essentially, that you're either in queue for the oath, or that you will be in queue for the oath in less than a month.

You're right, there won't be any judge approval if you don't have RQ. The other steps (uploading the test results, approval by CIC, moving to the oath queue) are likely to be present. We don't know much since the changes are recent and no one has received an ATIP report after the changes have been implemented.

Things are too slow in Montreal.. Wife passed test last July 23rd.. no news yet from CIC.
She had an RQ back in Feb.. someone told her that the RQ gets processed after the test these days.. which is strange.
